Who we are

Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, which is a platform that enables organizations that depend on physical operations to harness Internet of Things (IoT) data to develop actionable insights and improve their operations. At Samsara, we are helping improve the safety, efficiency and sustainability of the physical operations that power our global economy. Representing more than 40% of global GDP, these industries are the infrastructure of our planet, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing — and we are excited to help digitally transform their operations at scale.

Working at Samsara means you’ll help define the future of physical operations and be on a team that’s shaping an exciting array of product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, Equipment Monitoring, and Site Visibility. As part of a recently public company, you’ll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term.

About the role:

Samsara has several emerging go-to-market partner programs that are potential core engines of significant growth for the company. These include referral and resale partnerships, as well as strategic alliances with the insurance industry, fleet management companies, and technology integrators.

As a Partner Business Operations and Planning Manager, you will be a thought partner to our Partner Leadership, working to define and accelerate the future of our partner ecosystem. You’ll collaborate with sales leaders to build GTM strategy, identify areas to drive operational efficiency at scale, and contribute critical insights to company-wide planning processes. You will also spend time on strategic analysis to evaluate novel commercialization or investment opportunities, while steering optimized programs and processes from concept to fruition.

This is a dynamic role that requires working cross-functionally to advocate for GTM partner programs and oversee strategy to execution. This role has strong potential for growth in our Partner Business Operations and Planning Team.

This is a remote position open to candidates based in the US. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role.

You should apply if:

  • You want to impact the industries that run our world: Your efforts will result in real-world impact—helping to keep the lights on, get food into grocery stores, and most importantly, ensure workers return home safely.
  • You have an innate curiosity about how businesses work: One day you’ll meet with someone in waste management and the next you may be learning about the inner workings of a food distribution center. Our top sales team members seek to learn the ins and outs of the businesses they support in order to make a larger impact.
  • You build genuine relationships with your customers: The industries we serve have relied on pen-and-paper solutions for years and haven’t been met with the type of technology we offer. Our customer's value earned trust and human relationships built over time.
  • You want to be with the best: Samsara’s high-performance culture means you’ll be surrounded by the best and challenged to go farther than you have before.
  • You are a team player: At Samsara, sales is a team sport. We help each other out by sharing best practices and focusing on winning as a team.

In this role, you will:

  • Spearhead and contribute to the development of GTM partner sales strategy alongside Partner Leadership
  • Design and deploy scalable programs to enable partners to deliver best-in-class pre- and post-sales offerings
  • Identify and problem-solve opportunities for process or partner experience improvement
  • Iterate on partner policy to optimize alignment with Samsara sales, Samsara cross-functional, and counterpart partner teams
  • Measure program effectiveness by analyzing key performance indicators and comprehensive stakeholder feedback
  • Provide strategic analysis and insights to inform fiscal planning activities
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 6-8 years of strategic planning, business operations, and/or consulting experience
  • Stellar analytical, written, and verbal communications skills
  • Proven ability in turning complex, ambiguous business challenges into clear, data-driven recommendations
  • Experience working cross-functionally with technical teams to design and build or improve business processes
  • Consistent track record of deploying new programs and/or organizational frameworks to drive business outcomes and working with sales teams
  • Collaborative and low-ego mindset

An ideal candidate also has:

  • In-depth understanding of how SaaS GTM partnerships and alliances work
  • Experience building global GTM plans
  • Translate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience leading projects demonstrating a bias for action
  • Proven record of driving results with cross-functional teams
  • Sensitivity to the sales cycle and operates with a sense of urgency

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
