Ability to Obtain Public Trust

We are seeking a Palantir Application Developer to design, build, and enhance mission-focused applications and analytics products on the Palantir Foundry platform. This role is responsible for developing end-to-end solutions that transform raw data into trusted, governed datasets and user-ready applications using Foundry capabilities such as Pipelines, Transformations, Ontology, Workshops, governance workflows, and operational monitoring.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience building scalable applications and data products in enterprise environments and is comfortable working across product, data, engineering, security, and operations teams. This role supports operational and analytical use cases, including case management, reporting, and workflow automation, often in environments that manage PII / PHI / CUI and require strong compliance, auditability, and secure delivery practices.

This is an excellent opportunity for a builder who enjoys delivering polished applications, enabling trusted data-driven operations, and working within a governed enterprise platform to support mission outcomes.

What You Will Do

Palantir Foundry Application Development

  • Design, develop, and enhance Palantir Foundry applications that support case management, program operations, reporting, dashboards, and operational analytics.

  • Build user-facing solutions using Workshops and other Foundry application development patterns with a focus on usability, performance, and reliability.

  • Translate business and product requirements into scalable, production-ready features and workflow tools.

Data Products, Pipelines, and Transformations

  • Build and maintain Foundry Pipelines and Transformations that create curated, analytics-ready datasets for operational and reporting use cases.

  • Apply strong data modeling practices, reusable transformation logic, and maintainable data product design patterns.

  • Optimize jobs for maintainability, scheduling, dependency management, and operational robustness.

Ontology and Workflow Enablement

  • Design and implement Ontology objects, relationships, properties, and actions that power application functionality and workflow automation.

  • Align ontology design with business concepts, case management semantics, entity definitions, and downstream analytics needs.

  • Support consistent and trusted entity representation across datasets and operational workflows.

Governance, Security, and Compliance

  • Implement governance controls, policies, access models, and permissioning constructs to support secure-by-default delivery.

  • Apply secure data handling practices appropriate for environments containing PII / PHI / CUI.

  • Contribute to documentation, lineage awareness, release traceability, and audit-ready delivery practices.

Integration, Quality, and Operational Excellence

  • Design secure integration patterns between Foundry and external systems using APIs, file exchanges, event streams, and partner data sources.

  • Implement testing strategies, validation checks, and controlled promotion across environments.

  • Improve observability and operational readiness through logs, metrics, alerts, dashboards, runbooks, and incident response support.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve application and pipeline issues to ensure stability and reliability for end users.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with product owners, data engineers, architects, security teams, and operations teams to deliver mission-focused solutions.

  • Produce high-quality engineering documentation, including SOPs, system diagrams, data flow diagrams, and configuration baselines.

  • Communicate progress, risks, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What You Will Need

  • Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD "PUBLIC TRUST"; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, OR Additional 4 years equivalent professional experience in lieu of Degree .

  • Minimum TWO (2) years' experience in Palantir application development.

  • Minimum FIVE (5) years for building production applications, analytics solutions, or data products in enterprise environments.

  • Hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry, including Pipelines, Transformations, Workshops, and application development for operational or analytical use cases.

  • Experience with Ontology modeling and implementing ontology-driven application or workflow patterns.

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one development language used for data or application engineering, with Python preferred and Java or Scala acceptable.

  • Experience implementing secure data access models and governance controls, including role-based access, least privilege, and data handling policies.

  • Strong engineering fundamentals, including version control, code quality, testing discipline, and Secure SDLC practices.

  • Ability to work effectively in compliance-driven environments involving PII / PHI / CUI, retention requirements, operational controls, and auditability expectations.

What Would Be Nice to Have

  • Experience with advanced Ontology modeling for complex business domains such as case management, eligibility, investigations, services, and outcomes.

  • Experience applying Palantir AIP to case management use cases, including AI-assisted document summarization, intelligent document understanding, entity extraction, entity resolution, and decision-support workflows.

  • Experience with human-in-the-loop review, explainability, and governance controls to support compliant and auditable AI-assisted outcomes.

  • Experience designing governed workflows using Foundry governance constructs, including approvals, access workflows, and audit support.

  • Familiarity with Databricks, lakehouse concepts, and integration with external compute and storage environments.

  • Experience with DevOps, Git-based workflows, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation practices.

  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools responsibly in conjunction with strong testing, code review, and security practices.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
