THE ROLE
We’re looking for a versatile, high-performance Video Editor and Digital Designer who specializes in building paid social ads that convert. This contractor will play a key role in producing video and static content that fuels Thrive Market’s acquisition engine across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and Snap. This is a role for a true performance-minded creative: someone who can edit compelling videos, design scroll-stopping statics, and—ideally—write sharp ad copy that drives clicks and conversions. You’ll work closely with strategists, marketers, and other creatives to transform raw footage and concepts into high-impact ad creative that performs across platforms.
This is a contract position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Edit video ads for paid social with a direct-response lens: strong hooks, fast pacing, emotional payoff, clear CTAs, and platform-native style
- Design static ads and concept graphics for Meta, TikTok, Snap, and YouTube using DR best practices
- Think like a strategist: Translate briefs into performance-driven creative, combining strategy, storytelling, and aesthetic execution
- Edit influencer and UGC footage into polished, high-converting ads without losing authenticity
- Build ad variants for creative testing: version, iterate, and adapt top-performing ads for scale
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure creative aligns with brand voice, audience insights, and business goals
- Contribute strategically: Suggest ideas for new formats, editing structures, and ad concepts based on platform trends and performance data
- Work fast, smart, and with precision—managing multiple assets and deadlines while upholding a high creative bar
- Write copy that converts: Develop on-screen text, headlines, and scripts that are optimized for platform, brand voice, and performance
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3–5+ years of experience editing paid social ads and designing high-performing statics for DTC, subscription, or high-growth brands.
- Proven experience creating ads for Meta (FB/IG), TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Snap.
- Strong portfolio showcasing direct-response video and static creative with measurable performance results.
- Deep understanding of visual storytelling, digital design principles, and conversion psychology.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced, test-and-learn environment.
- Skilled in Adobe Premiere (After Effects a plus)
- Skilled in Adobe Photoshop; must be comfortable with light retouching as needed (i.e. extending background of image, adjusting product placement etc.)
- Strategic and collaborative thinker who understands the relationship between visual design and copy—comfortable contributing to light copywriting and iterating on messaging
- Proactive and flexible mindset—equally comfortable executing fast-turnaround deliverables and participating in higher-level creative ideation
- A strong portfolio of direct-response social ads that showcase your ability to hook, convert, and perform—especially on TikTok and Meta
- Strong typography, layout, and color theory skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, managing multiple projects with tight deadlines while maintaining quality of deliverables
- Self-driven, adaptable, and eager to push creative boundaries
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into effective ad strategies.
- Strategic, growth-oriented creative self-starter with a proven track record in paid ad creation, from brief intake to final edits.
- A direct-response visual storyteller who understands how to hold attention, build momentum, and drive action through editing and design.
- Fluent in platform-native content creation across TikTok, Meta, Snap, and YouTube/YT Shorts.
- Experienced with influencer and UGC editing — you can polish raw iPhone footage into high-converting ads without losing authenticity.
- A strategic thinker who can read a brief, understand a KPI, and build creative that ladders up to the broader business objective.
- An efficient operator who thrives in a fast-paced, testing-heavy environment with tight deadlines and lots of iteration.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects and versions at once.
- Exceptionally skilled at image curation, visual storytelling, typography, layout, form and color
- A self-starter that doesn’t always wait for briefs to jump on culturally forward ideas that we can make in house.
- Comfortable articulating design choices with strategic reasoning, tying decisions to brand goals and user experience.
- Highly collaborative and vocal team player.
- Bonus: You can write compelling social ad copy, headlines, and CTAs that perform in a direct-response context and/ or familiarity with Motion, Triple Whale, or creative analytics platforms
CONTRACT DETAILS
- This is a full-time, contract position, 40 hours a week
- Compensation details: $35-$50/hr
