About the Role

The mission of the Paid Search Ads Manager (Google Ads) is to own and scale Curology's paid search channel as the primary driver of efficient customer acquisition within the Growth team.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Performance Marketing, this role takes full, independent ownership of Curology’s Google Ads program, including campaign execution, performance optimization, measurement integrity, and cross-functional reporting from day one.

Success in this role means taking clean ownership of a channel currently managed by an agency, scaling spend profitably, and establishing yourself as the undisputed internal expert all while consistently moving the needle on CAC, CVR, and creative testing velocity.

The ideal candidate is deeply experienced in paid search, comfortable owning large budgets autonomously, and moves quickly from data to insight to action. They apply rigorous analytical thinking to every optimization decision, tell clear stories with performance data, and bring genuine curiosity about AI-driven tools and the evolving search landscape to continuously improve how the channel operates.

Essential Functions & Impact AreasChannel Ownership & Execution
  • Own day-to-day management and optimization of paid acquisition campaigns across Google Search, Performance Max, YouTube, Shopping, Display, Demand Gen, and Microsoft/Bing Ads—with full accountability for pacing, budget allocation, and performance to ensure efficient growth and profitability.
  • Launch, manage, and optimize campaigns with a clear focus on lowering CAC and improving CVR; identify scaling opportunities while maintaining efficiency targets.
  • Identify, evaluate, and help scale emerging acquisition opportunities across AI/LLM search platforms (e.g., Perplexity, ChatGPT, Gemini), Apple Search Ads, new Google AI-driven ad surfaces, and additional channels relevant to customer acquisition.
  • Conduct keyword, audience, bidding, feed, and landing page optimizations with precision and rigor—moving quickly on reversible decisions and escalating appropriately on high-stakes ones.
  • Develop and iterate on ad copy and messaging strategies informed by search intent, performance data, competitive trends, and creative testing insights.
Strategy & Performance Analysis
  • Analyze campaign and funnel performance to uncover insights and optimization opportunities—translating data into clear, actionable recommendations for internal stakeholders.
  • Build performance reporting and analyses that communicate channel health, trends, and strategic recommendations; present findings with a level of data storytelling that makes insights accessible to cross-functional partners.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to align media strategy with broader acquisition and growth goals; continuously test and iterate on bidding strategies, audience targeting, creative, landing pages, and campaign structure.

AI & Workflow Optimization
  • Leverage AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) to improve campaign workflows, accelerate creative ideation, streamline reporting, and enhance operational efficiency—with particular emphasis on data visualization and performance storytelling.
  • Identify opportunities to use automation and AI tooling to improve testing velocity, campaign management, and performance insight generation.
  • Stay current on evolving AI capabilities within the search advertising ecosystem and bring informed perspective on how to apply them to this channel.
Measurement, Tracking & Funnel Analysis
  • Own the technical health and measurement integrity of the paid search channel across tracking, attribution, feeds, and campaign delivery
  • Partner with analytics, engineering, and product teams to ensure accurate conversion tracking, tagging, attribution, and event measurement across platforms
  • Regularly audit and troubleshoot tracking infrastructure, product feeds, landing pages, and campaign setup to proactively identify and resolve performance issues
  • Utilize tools such as GA4, GTM, Amplitude, and Contentsquare to analyze user behavior and understand the full customer journey from impression through conversion
  • Leverage funnel analysis and on-site behavioral insights to identify friction points, conversion drop-offs, and landing page optimization opportunities
  • Develop a strong understanding of how users interact with the site experience specifically from Google and paid search traffic, using insights to improve acquisition efficiency and conversion rates
  • Monitor attribution trends and platform changes to ensure continued measurement accuracy and performance stability

RequirementsRequired Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of hands-on experience managing Search Ads campaigns at scale, with demonstrated accountability for large paid media budgets.
  • Deep expertise across Search, PMax, Shopping, YouTube, and Demand Gen campaigns.
  • High data proficiency: strong analytical mindset with the ability to move from raw performance data to actionable insight quickly and independently.
  • Proven ability to scale customer acquisition efficiently while improving CAC and CVR.
  • Strong understanding of conversion optimization, attribution, and performance analytics.
  • Proficiency with Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, GA4, and Google Tag Manager.
  • Familiarity with AI/LLM tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) and demonstrated use of these tools to improve workflow, reporting, or analysis.
  • Experience with Amplitude, Contentsquare, Tableau, and/or Asana
  • Ability to independently own and operate a performance marketing channel with minimal oversight.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, highly iterative environment.

Compensation:

The estimated base salary range for this role is $120,000 – $140,000 per year, plus a competitive equity package and benefits. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including location, skills, experience, and job-related expertise.
