Outside Sales - Business Development Specialist - Fluid Power Products and Solutions

The Business Development Specialist will drive sales growth by identifying opportunities, building client relationships, delivering presentations and proposals, and collaborating with departments.
Western Integrated Technologies (WIT), a SunSource company, is an industry leading fluid power distributor and manufacturer, serving hundreds of customers worldwide. WIT is one of the largest Parker Distributors in North America, providing customers with hydraulic and pneumatic solutions.
As a business development specialist, you play a key role in creating and implementing new and innovative business development strategies. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, connecting, and meeting with current and prospective clients, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions to meet those needs.
This role will cover a sales territory in Southern / Central Oregon and should be home based in that general vicinity.
Essential Functions
- Full-cycle sales from lead development to closure of sale.
- Build and maintain meaningful business relationships with decision makers and stakeholders
- Actively drive sales growth while simultaneously enhancing profit margins, leveraging innovative strategies and solutions
- Collaborate with other departments (Purchasing, Shop, C-Suite and Engineering) to identify and win new opportunities
- Interact daily with customer prospects through various communication channels (i.e., email, phone, and in person)
- Create persuasive proposals and deliver impactful presentations to customers and prospective clients
- Utilize our CRM by updating your new and ongoing sales opportunities
Experience, Education and Skills
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in related field, such as engineering, is preferred.
- 3+ years of industrial sales experience within Fluid Power (hydraulic and pneumatic) products and solutions.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and programmable controllers (preferred)
- Aptitude for fostering positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Strong research and strategic analysis skills.
- Proficiency in creating and delivering persuasive proposals and client presentations
- Advanced skills in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong attention to detail and ability to thrive under pressure
- Strong desire to support and help teammates excel
- Valid Driver's License
- Some overnight travel may be required
