Job Summary:
Caterpillar is seeking a highly qualified SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) Functional Specialist to join our Order to Cash (OTC) team. This individual will work closely with OTC Architects and Solution Leads to ensure successful implementations of technical solutions that align with our evolving business objectives and support strategic growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in a variety of areas within SAP SD, demonstrated experience assisting with leading and successful implementing advanced order scenarios and pricing procedures.
This position requires effective leadership within a global, collaborative environment, working closely with OTC architects, other functional leads, technical programmers, and business partners. Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects and mentor junior functional team members with their projects. This role will be responsible for gathering requirements, developing application enhancements, preparing project cost estimates, and overseeing project deployments and enhancements.
What You Will Do:
  • Deliver SAP SD/OTC solutions aligned to enterprise templates and business objectives.
  • Offer advanced level technical guidance to SAP SD/OTC support teams and integration partners.
  • Analyze, document, and revise business processes and system logic as needed.
  • Provide recommendations on order and pricing enhancements to meet business requirements.
  • Create test plans to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Oversee User Acceptance Testing and script sign-off for key releases.
  • Design and configure pricing procedures, including condition tables and types.
  • Demonstrate expertise in OTC processes and related business functions.

What You Have:
  • Problem Solving: Expert knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations for SAP Sales & Distribution module.
  • Technology Advising: Extensive knowledge of effective advisory methods and ability to provide valued information and advice to clients regarding products, technologies, services and solutions for SAP Sales & Distribution module.
  • Application Design, Architecture: Expert knowledge of basic activities and deliverables of application design; ability to utilize application design methodologies, tools and techniques to convert business requirements and logical models into a technical application design.
  • Requirements Analysis: Expert knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
  • System and Technology Integration: Expert knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.
  • Systems Software Infrastructure: Extensive knowledge of computer architecture and system software interaction; ability to design and build a fundamental architecture of operating systems, database management systems, communications protocols, compilers and other development tools.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Extensive knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application or operation.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:
  • Four-year bachelor's degree preferably in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of SAP IT experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership in advanced deployments and enhancements, with integrations across multiple SAP functional modules.
  • Experienced with integration technologies such as Snap Logic or API's.
  • Excellent presentation, oral, and written communication abilities.
  • Recognized as an experienced SAP SD functional consultant with strong knowledge of invoicing, pricing procedures, sales order conversions, loan processes, system configuration (SPRO), and interface management.
  • Adept at collaborating with business partners to translate requirements into detailed functional designs & specifications.
  • Advanced problem-solving and excelling in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar dealer network, facilities, product structure, and machine ordering landscape and logistics
  • SAP Certified Associate - Sales

  • The ideal location for this role is East Peoria-IL or Dallas-TX,
  • This position requires the employee to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
  • This position may require 30% travel.

Summary Pay Range:
$126,000.00 - $204,720.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
