Innovatus Technology Consulting is seeking a capable Oracle Database Administrator to support mission-critical database environments for government and enterprise clients. This fully remote position focuses on maintaining high-performance, secure, and reliable Oracle databases in a demanding, compliance-driven setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and maintain Oracle database software (primarily 19c and later) across development, test, and production environments.
- Monitor database performance, diagnose issues, and perform tuning using AWR/ADDM reports, Statspack, and SQL tuning tools.
- Design and execute backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures using RMAN, Data Guard, and related utilities.
- Manage database security: user authentication, role-based access, auditing, encryption, and compliance with security standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents, including performance degradation, connectivity failures, and application integration problems.
- Apply security patches, PSU/RU updates, and critical fixes with minimal service interruption.
- Work closely with developers, system administrators, and project teams to implement database changes and support application requirements.
- Document configurations, standard operating procedures, runbooks, and root-cause analyses.
- Participate in on-call rotation for production support outside normal business hours.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
- 1–3 years of production experience administering Oracle databases.
- Working knowledge of Oracle database internals, including multitenant architecture and Data Guard.
- Proficiency writing and optimizing SQL and PL/SQL; comfort with shell scripting in Linux/Unix environments.
- Hands-on experience with backup/recovery, performance monitoring, and basic capacity planning.
- Currently possess a DoW Secret Clearance or higher.
- U.S. citizenship required due to clearance and client requirements.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Oracle certification (OCA, OCP, or equivalent).
- Experience administering databases in Linux/Unix environments.
- Familiarity with high-availability setups, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), or enterprise backup solutions (e.g., CommVault, NetBackup).
- Prior work in government, DoW, or regulated environments.
