Description

A database administrator (DBA) is the Information technician responsible for directing and performing all activities related to maintaining a successful database environment. A DBA ensures an organization’s databases and related applications operate functionally and efficiently.

Basic Functions

1.    Oracle Platforms

a.    Support 12.x Oracle EBS application database administration and environments.

b.    Contribute to technology vision roadmaps for all Oracle EBS technologies.

c.    Update and implement user security and roles within Oracle ERP Security based on functional documents provided by implementation and support team.

d.    Build custom security roles by tailoring Oracle seeded roles as per the business requirements.

2.    AIX, Linux Platforms

a.    Server maintenance and system administration.

b.    Evaluate security vulnerabilities, consult with application testing team, apply patches as required.

3.    Technical Platform servers and Database Support (i.e. WebLogic, Apache, OID)

a.    Support server upgrades to Oracle eBusiness Suite, provide server/database/middleware upgrade, support new and existing platform services, and work with IT developers and testers for upgrade task and compatibility checklist.

b.    Assist in design, upgrade and post upgrade support for Oracle databases and MS SQL server, evaluate Oracle database and SQL server security and implement security remediation, and assist in cloud migration of database and Middleware services.

4.    Performance Management

a.    Support for various performance issues, provide databases, Middleware, GoldenGate Replication tool, web services, network and server performance support using tools (i.e. SolarWind), develop and support server Disaster Recovery plan.

b.    Develop system performance reports.

c.    View and monitor service detail and notifications related to patching, critical updates, and downtime.

5.    General Functions

a.    Develop and update project plans.

b.    Provide technical support, instance administration, release management, incident management, and routine upgrade support.

c.    Develop and update system documentation.

d.    Update and document Change Control System.

e.    Maintain inventory.

f.     Perform backup/snapshots, plan and upgrade OS to vendor supported version.

g.    Collaborating with specific application leads to maintain consistent Enterprise Application Security, setup, architecture, information, rules, and access.

h.    Manage User Profiles, provision security roles and data access sets based on organization defined data security policies and user role matrix defined by the business.

i.      Maintain/administer user data, security access, and personalization.

j.      Manage security to include database certificates and encryption.

Knowledge & Experience Requirements

1.    8 years’ server management experience for AIX, Linux in SAN storage environment.

2.    8 years’ experience with Oracle Database.

3.    5 years’ experience with MS SQL server database.

4.    5 years’ experience with supporting large server enterprise environment (minimum 100+

servers).

Skills

1.    Setup/maintain Oracle Dataguard for Standby database environment.

2.    Experiences with Oracle Exadata and Golden Gate.

3.    Perform daily operational duties for 19c Oracle Multitenant databases and Oracle EBS 12.2.

4.    Monitor/Troubleshoot Oracle 19c database/servers/application problems/issues.

5.    Maintain and recover Oracle 19c databases as required.

6.    Work as part of the team and provide 24x7 support when required.

7.    Evaluate/Apply Oracle database and Oracle EBS quarterly security patches.

8.    Extensive knowledge in Oracle EBS 12.2 adopt patching technology.

9.    Extensive experiences with Oracle EBS 12.2 cloning.

10.  Perform EBS release upgrades
