Compensation

The base hourly rate for this position is $24.44.

Position Overview

This position is responsible for communicating and supporting JM core values and delivering the JM experience. This Operator position is part of the Pay for Skills program and is the entry level position. The employee may start at any of these training positions: Mixer, Winder, Vat, Mid Operator, Quality, Shipping, Materials Handler, or Palletizer.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all Johns Manville safety procedures and policies
  • Wear protective clothing & equipment as required
  • Review and complete training on JSAs/SOPs
  • Complete training sign-off in accordance with finished product specifications
  • Complete Get Data training such as: daily checklists, housekeeping checklists, forklift checklists, etc.
  • Assist production line crews as needed
  • Record scrap and place in proper location
  • Other duties may vary depending on the starting position, check with your supervisor for more details.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • There are no supervisory responsibilities for direct reports for this position.

Requirements: (education, skills, and abilities)

  • At least one year working in a warehouse/production environment.
  • Must be able to accurately read a tape measure, work instruction, finished product specifications.
  • Have general math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages).
  • Beginner to intermediate computer skills (Microsoft office).
  • Solid Communication Skills (written/verbal).
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

The physical requirements of this position are: (these requirements are typical for most of our manufacturing roles)                                                                                   

  • The ability to stand for extended periods
  • The ability to manually lift, push or pull at least 50 pounds safely and with proper body mechanics, sometimes while in awkward positions.                                                                              
  • Use of hands (repetitive motion, grabbing, feeling, sensing, pulling)                                   
  • The ability to work safely in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful work environment
  • The ability to safely and effectively work in an often-dusty work environment that experiences a broad range of temperatures (very hot to very cold).                                                                          
  • The ability to withstand the rigors of working a 12(or 8)-hour rotating shift schedule.                     
  • The ability to bend, stoop or kneel repetitively.
