STARS System Administrator

Provide IT support for the Spacelift Telemetry Acquisition & Reporting System (STARS), Aerospace's launch support facility. STARS is used by our launch team to evaluate the health of the launch vehicle during the count to provide a GO/NO GO recommendation. The chosen candidate will have a big role in ensuring the STARS facility is 100% ready to support all STARS launch operations. The chosen candidate will also have a role in utilizing cloud computing, AI, machine learning, and other state-of-art technologies to craft the future of STARS.

What You'll Be Doing
- Support our SMC/LE and NRO customers.
- Provide IT support for STARS, enabling Aerospace to achieve the highest degree of launch readiness.
- Support the development of The STARS of the Future, an Aerospace Initiative to reshape the future of launch operations.
- Support IT tasks necessary to verify STARS infrastructure is ready for a pending launch operations.
- Provide system administration of storage devices, archiving systems, networks, workstations, servers, and other hardware/software systems.
- Duties, responsibilities and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned as needed.
This position is available as a Specialist III and IV
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Five years or more of System Administration experience
- Familiar with the sizing, installation, and maintenance of mass storage devices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to effectively work with STARS's customers to address their computer needs.
- Willing to work after hours and weekends to support launch operations
- This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
What You Need to be Successful - Specialist IV
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or equivalent
- Eight years or more of System Administration experience
- Experience with sizing, installation, and maintenance of mass storage devices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to lead teams from various groups (STARS, EIS, ISD) on a wide range of software/hardware development projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willing to work after hours and weekends to support launch operations
- This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
