Confidential retail company is seeking an experienced Senior Director (or Director) of Distribution and Logistics in downtown Los Angeles, CA to provide hands-on management and leadership to oversee all aspects of domestic and import distribution, budgets and KPIs. The Sr Director/ Director will provide scalable WH Operations; Distribution, Supply Chain & Logistic strategies, solutions, and recommendations.  The ideal candidate will ensure delivery deadlines are met, initiate communication and internal/ external partnerships, make improvement recommendations while taking accountability for finished goods distribution and warehouse operations. This dynamic role reports directly to the COO.

 

Responsibilities:

·         Actively contribute to the WH operations of the 3PLs to ensure goals and timelines are met.

·         Direct all inbound movement of the finished garments from domestic and international manufacturers to distribution centers and on to all outbound customer delivery points.

·         Establish and analyze budgets to support business plans and improve service.

·         Favorably negotiate contracts related to all distribution partners, freight relationships, etc.

·         Collaborate with Sales, Production, IT and other cross teams to identify challenges and develop strategic support within allocation, WH, and transportation processes. 

·         Assess current logistics needs, provide solutions expertise, recommend improvement changes.

·         Identify the best 3PL service provider for e-Commerce, wholesale and retail distribution

·         Develop KPI's for evaluation of potential new services partners and improvements on current services, utilizing past apparel or seasonal soft goods distribution experience

·         Conduct and assess cost - benefit analysis for all areas of Distribution/ Supply Chain.

·         Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure company distribution processes and third party policies align.

·         Oversee 3PLs  and  logistics operations with  the goal of providing best-in- class distribution; suggest and make lean process improvements while meeting all timelines 

·         Oversee and manage a WH Distribution Manager and a small team of Customer Service Reps

·         Provide and create “best practices” in an effort to continually improve performance measured by key metrics  across the distribution channels

 

Desired Skills and Experience:

·         Normally requires Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or similar

·         Preferred 10-12+ years' experience in global apparel distribution, supply chain and WH operations with international and customs experience.

·         Experience with various picking, packing, configuration & storage methods – lean principles and work flow, apparel or accessories logistics and distribution experience required.

·         Assess and manage multiple 3PLs (selection to roll-up), warehouse systems integrations for consumer products (seasonal soft goods) or apparel industry.

·         Domestic and international logistics, transportation and trade compliance required

·         Proven experience with inventory audits, freight audits, systems interface.

·         Demonstrated strengths in areas of hands-on WH management and leadership; 

KPI goal setting, process improvement, change management, team development.

·         Strong interpersonal skills to interface with team and all levels of management.

·         Ability to meet multiple deadlines, changing priorities, anticipate needs, create solutions

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills MS Office applications (Excel, Word).

·         Kaizen principles, or Lean Six Sigma, or CSCP or CPIM or similar certifications a plus.

·         SAP system experience is preferred, but not required
