Aerospace is seeking astrategic,innovative,and drivenleaderfor theCross-MissionandTechnical Agentsubdivisionwithin the Space Systems Architect Division.
ThePrincipal Directorfor the Cross-Mission and TechnicalAgentsubdivisionis responsible for leading and managing Aerospace efforts in support of, and advisingcustomer leadership of, theSpace Systems Command (SSC) Space Systems Architect (ZA)Cross-Mission Integrationteam(SSC/ZAEX)andthe Technical Agentsupporting the interagency Program Integration Council (PIC).The Principal Directoralignsunder the Assistant General Manager for the Space Enterprise Portfolio.
The work program includes architecture developmentforenterprise-spanning cross-missionareasof the DoD space enterprise;road mapping the development, acquisition,and delivery of these capabilitiestosupport program needs;ensuring the successful integration of cross-mission capabilities to support program needs;planning foradoption ofindustryinnovation, science,andtechnology;establishingresourceneeds;and fulfillingthe mission of the Technical Agent supporting the PIC.
This position requires strong collaboration acrossSSC, Space Development Agency (SDA),Space Rapid Capabilities Office (SpRCO)and withother acquisition, force design and requirementsagenciestoformulate andsynchronize cross-mission capabilities andto executetasks assigned tothe Technical Agent.The selected candidate will be expected to provide proactive support to the customer and cultivate productive working relationships in a fast-paced multi-organizational and multi-contractor environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading and managing Aerospace support to SSC/ZAEX(Cross-Mission Integration)and Technical Agent, includingremote personnel,
- Building and sustaining a diverse and highly capable workforce through hiring, staff performance reviews, career development, and mentoring,
- Setting organizational and guiding individual goals and direction, monitoring progress and providing feedback for staff development,
- Providing proactive support to customers to identify high value work for theportfolio, translating customer requests into technical priorities and planning and managing the team accordingly, and
- Recommending budgets, allocating resources, establishing priorities and ensuring execution to plans and commitments.
- Partneringwith the SSC/ZAEXleadershipandaligning and guiding Aerospace resourcesonfuture architectural concepts, technology development, innovation, and acquisition/resource planningforcross-missionground, data transport, data, space, space access, and servicingandlogistics,
- Advising thegovernment on the role,strategy, tasks, implementationandsuccessfulexecution of theTechnical Agentsupporting the PIC,
- Providingtechnicalleadershipwithin teams of Government, Aerospace, support contractors, and other FFRDC personnel to monitor mission area efforts, identify technical and performanceintegration risks, and develop strategic roadmaps,
- Advisingon acquisition strategiesandprogram decisionseffectingfuture architecturesand operational integration to ensuresuccessful delivery ofenterprise solutions for improved efficiency and interoperability, and
- Reporting on the organization's activities, progress, and achievements through written and oral reports.
- Moderate level of travel may be required
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 12 years of relevant professional engineering/scientific experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, mathematics or an appropriate technical discipline
- Strong customer communication skills required to effectively engage customers and build a beneficial relationship
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams with agility and collaboration
- Ability to make time-critical mission success decisions with ambiguous or incomplete data
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of external trends and can quickly identify the implications to inform or evolve a business strategy
- Experience in space systemsarchitectures, design and/oracquisition
- Active top-secret/SCI clearance and ability to be granted SAP clearances, which are issued by the U.S. Government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

$139,050 - $228,199 - $317,349
