OVERVIEW:
The Account Digital Investment Lead is accountable for oversight, delivery, operations and total accuracy of all digital buying on their assigned account(s). This role is essential to deliver cohesive campaigns, ensure fluidity across tactics/channels and provide a heightened level of implementation quality, speed and fiduciary accuracy. You will oversee all Direct and Biddable digital investments (Search, Social, Programmatic, Digital, Audio)

This role is central to the collaboration necessary to operate and deliver as one digital team – representing a cohesive group of Search, Social, Digital Investment (DIG) and Biddable Practices to all internal and external stakeholders. You will report into our Integrated Investment Lead and together, will be responsible for our U.S. practice. Additionally, and as needed, you will liaise with our Global counterparts and work closely with our Global Investment Lead.

For clarity, in this role, you will be responsible for the integration within all channels, Video, Audio and Image, as necessary to bring to life the strategic vision of the campaign. This role will liaise with all departments to educate, provide guidance and show empathy towards this new way of working together.

You will lead the team to increase operational excellence in delivery and accuracy through coordinated delivery of buys, ensure best practices are being applied within the context of client-specific strategies, and consult with Account Practice Leads to assure alignment in operational matters, including staffing.

In this role, you will collaborate with the Account Practice Lead(s) on client and internal deliverables/presentations and within the marketplace to:

  • Position themselves as one digital team with overall expertise as well as expertise within their respective areas of specialty. Work closely with the Integrated lead to push out one voice in the marketplace with coordinated briefs, RFPs and RFIs
  • Ensure consistent pricing and execution aligned with best practices
  • Ensure investment is approached in a manner that is most beneficial for the client, across tactics/channels and
    • occurs according to GroupM Delivery best practices and processes for all media platforms and partners
    • maximizes cross-channel impact as defined by the Account Digital Investment Lead in consultation with Account Platform Leads
    • maximizes within-channel impact as defined by the Account Practice Leads in consultation with the Account Digital Investment Lead
  • The Account Digital Investment Lead is responsible for ensuring accurate contracting and campaign data governance, proper implementation and overseeing timely reconciliation across all channels for their assigned account(s). The Account Digital Investment Lead will collaborate with relevant Account Practice Leads on matters specific to individual channels.
  • The Account Digital Investment Lead is involved in digital buying team hiring discussions. When staff sit within Biddable candidates, the relevant Platform Practice Leads will collaborate with the Account Digital Investment Lead regarding roles that have buying responsibility and will come to consensus on decisions.
    • The Recruitment team will work in partnership with the Account Practice Leads and the Account Digital Investment Leads on searches for Director-level and above candidates
  • The Account Digital Investment Lead will collaborate with the Account Practice Lead(s) on buying and data needs.
  • The Account Digital Investment Lead will collaborate with the Video Investment and Account Practice Lead(s) on scope of work issues.
  • The Account Practice Leads will remain the owners of their areas of expertise advising the Account Digital Investment Lead with GroupM on best practices configurable to the specific needs of the client.

 

ALL DIGITAL BUYING TEAM MEMBERS HAVE THE RESPONSIBILITY TO:

  • Attend all team meetings/statuses
  • Comply to billing reconciliation contract processes and timelines
  • Comply to campaign data quality and data governance checklist(s)
  • Update Brand Safety Guidelines and ensure the team is fully compliance with the latest (While/Black lists, etc)
  • Follow buy management standards (pacing, optimizations, etc.)
  • Adhere to account specific buying guidelines (i.e. Viewability, Whitelist, Brand Safety)
  • Provide inputs to investment trackers at the appropriate cadence
  • Adhere to spend goals and endeavor tracking
  • Provide consideration sets/site selection for all buys
  • Consult with Account Digital Investment Lead prior to working with new partners that GroupM has not worked with
  • Work with Account Digital Investment Lead on PTO and inform when sick/offsite to ensure coverage across buying team
