You Aspire To:
Lead Heliogen’s overall planning, coordinating, and monitoring of the logistics operations such as warehousing, inventory and transportation processes. Ensure product stock is adequate for all distribution channels and can cover projected demand. Create functional strategies and specific objectives for transportation and inventory management and develop budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure
Responsibilities:
- Set the vision and strategy for logistics and inventory control to ensure a great Supply Chain Management (SCM) Program is executed to support company growth strategies and is adaptable to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies.
- Define and ensure team delivery against key performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors, such as inventory levels, stock-outs, stock turns and inventory accuracy.
- Manages inventory tracking system to record deliveries, shipments and stock levels as well as warehouse, transportation, and other logistics processes
- Evaluates deliveries, shipments and product levels to improve inventory control procedures and develop new strategies to streamline processes and reduce cost
- Leads annual stock-taking activities, ideally utilizing consistently high inventory accuracy techniques to prevent costly third party support needs
- Work with product carriers to determine and negotiate shipping rates for materials and finished goods
- Direct the process of mapping and selecting transportation routes to maximize on-time delivery, economics and reduce risk.
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of the global manufacturing vision, strategy, and operational delivery, as it relates to Inventory management and logistical needs
- Hire, train and develop team, ensuring that each employee has a clear and thorough understanding of their role and responsibilities.
The activities above will include both US and international locations. The supply chain vendors will be providing materials to Heliogen locations around the world. The final Heliogen product installation/ manufacturing sites will also be at Heliogen and customer locations around the world. Visits to supplier locations and various Heliogen sites/ locations (including project sites) will be required
What's Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in supply chain management, economics, business administration, statistics, manufacturing, or associated engineering discipline
- 5 years experience in a supply chain, purchasing, logistics, or inventory management, leadership position.
- Startup company experience, with demonstrated implementation of safe and highly efficient inventory management/logistics solutions
- Practical experience, identifying, selecting and operating various inventory management processes/equipment with associated high efficiency
- Solid knowledge of data analysis, inventory management software, and forecasting techniques.
- Ability to function as a strategic thinker with good organizational skills and ability to prioritize, plan and execute.
What's Desirable:
- Supply Chain Management experience in support of high-volume manufacturing operations is desired
- ERP/MRP selection, deployment and integration to business needs
- Certifications from CPSM, CPIM, and/or CSCP
- Experience in a consumer goods manufacturing environment
