In 2009, Riot released its debut title League of Legends which has since gone on to become the most played PC game in the world. During this time, Riot has developed League of Legends into the largest esport on earth, and the fastest growing sport in the last decade. You will be joining an R&D esports team tasked with carrying on Riot’s track record of success in esports by building a new esport around an unpublished R&D title. We are responsible for designing the foundational structure of the sport, operating major international tournaments, defining global policies, selecting strategic partners, crafting a revenue and fan growth strategy and coordinating local esports ecosystems. As the Head of Competitive Operations, you will report into the Head of Esports and will be responsible for crafting global standards and best practices around match operations for sanctioned competition (e.g. rulesets, player discipline, refereeing, policies etc.). You will lead a small team that is charged with fostering a competitive global ecosystem for the sport - through direct operations, partner management and collaboration with international Riot esports teams. You will play a leading role in designing the structure of our sport from the ground up, and will act as a key representative of our sport to the industry, partners and fans.

Required Qualifications:

• You have a minimum of 8+years experience in the field of sports consulting, management or media/entertainment
• You have a minimum of 4+ years experience managing teams
• You have a legal or compliance background, and ideally have practiced law
• You are capable of using your excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively work and negotiate with internal and external partners and sponsors
• You have a proven track record managing high performing teams and a track record of achieving excellent results
• You are a fan of sports or esports

Desired Qualifications:

• You have experience participating in sports or competitive gaming
• You have experience leading successful contractual negotiations
