We are looking for a smart, skilled Farm Managerwho wants to join a dynamic, movement-leading company in a key role. The farm manager runs the daily operations of the seeding fulfillment center in Austin. This includes overseeing the farm team, the farm property, seedling fulfillment process, and greenhouse seedling production.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Job entails standing, walking, bending, squatting and lifting frequently. Occasionally will have to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Lead a team of 4-10 people. Maintain positive and proactive team culture
  • Ensure adequate labor resources 
  • Oversee fulfillment activities (packing and shipping of seedling orders)
  • Manage greenhouse operations (fertility, pest control, seeding, watering, organization, greenhouse equipment, climate control, etc)
  • Accurately report and analyze data relating to inventory, plant health and growth, labor, pests, etc.
  • Coordinate with other team members for special events
  • Improve systems and identify ways to increase efficiency
  • Manage and upkeep farm site
  • Collaborate with horticulture team members in different locations of the country
  • Communicate with team members across departments

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 2 year of horticultural experience 
  • Prior management or leadership experience.
  • Experience working with google applications
  • Consistently work to solve problems as they arise
  • Excellent oral communication and time management skills.
  • Agility and flexibility with responsibilities
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work in a busy work environment
  • Eagerness to improve processes and increase efficiency
  • Dependable, punctual, and positive attitude.
  • Demonstrated passion for sustainable farming and food.
