Job objective: This is an exciting role in a growing company. The ideal candidate for the position is someone who has experience leading in a fast paced product build and test environment. This person will be responsible for defining and implementing value stream approach and manufacturing processes, communicating these processes into agile and automated workflows, and driving lean tools. In this role, you work closely with talented technicians and partner with engineers to produce advanced technology products and lead continuous improvement in areas such as; manufacturing, materials planning, maintenance, and general operations.


Duties 

  • Oversee daily manufacturing and test operations in support of product build objectives
  • Partner with product owners and program managers to define, maintain and manage production schedule
  • Ensure quality, safety and security standards are maintained
  • Implement lean tools and standard operating procedures within value stream to minimize process variation and reduce waste
  • Staff and train qualified assembly and test technicians
  • Lead the transition of manufacturing from low rate to volume production
  • Measure performance and defect data for frequent root cause analysis to solve recurring or systemic problems with engineering and supply chain team members to develop standard operating procedures
  • Identify improvement opportunities and perform under minimal supervision to attain results as well as process enhancements
  • Liaison with facilities manager for the maintenance, safety elements and improvements of factory areas

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree in an Engineering discipline, Operations Management or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing or product build environment
  • System thinker with lean or 6Sigma expertise
  • Proven success in building teams
  • Proficient in shop floor control systems (MES and MRP), capacity analysis and production planning
  • Strong analytical mindset and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills at all levels of the organization
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment 
  • US Citizen (future security clearance may be required)

Desired Qualifications

  • Aerospace/Defense experience and/or military experience 
  • Experience working with RF and Digital Electronics components and complex assemblies
  • Exposure to agile product development process 
  • Advanced data analytics 
  • Knowledge of material movement methods including heavy lift, crane hoist and forklift
  • Project management experience

Location

Our company is located in Torrance, just off of the 405. We moved into our new 100,000+ square foot facility in November 2021 and love calling it home.
