About the Facilities/Operations Assistant at Headspace:

Headspace is looking for an All Star Facilities/Operations Assistant, reporting to the Facilities Manager. The Facilities Assistant is responsible for maintaining the Headspace Headquarters and ensuring that it is a clean and professional environment that our employees will thrive in. You’ll be our “jack of all trades”, knowing what is needed to get the job done and aren’t afraid to dive into projects as they arise.

How your skills and passion will come to life at Headspace:

  • Independent thinker, who can follow directions but also think about better ways to solve issues
  • Coordinate with maintenance contractors and vendors to supervise and monitor extermination, plumbing, appliance maintenance, electrical and other services as needed
  • Plan and perform basic building repairs, furniture building / moving, miscellaneous jobs and handyman work as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of light bulbs, water filters, CO2 for water faucet and other basic supplies
  • Perform a variety of preventive maintenance tasks including replacing light bulbs, water filters ice maker cleaning, and shower drain maintenance
  • Taking full ownership of the office appearance, inside and outside. Ensuring that the grounds are inspected on a daily basis and removing any debris or boxes
  • Coordinate with meeting owners to prepare for internal meetings and events
  • Interface with different circles to assure appropriate plans for set-up and clean up are in place
  • Assisting with event set up, such as breaking down tables and chairs, setting of catering/beverage service, etc.
  • Serve as a backup for our Concierge, including early morning or after-hours coverage
  • Monitoring Room temperature, and quickly responding to requests for temperature control changes
  • Monitor and restock countertop items in restrooms as needed, as well as maintain the inventory 
  • Other duties as requested or assigned by Workplace Experience Director

What you’ve accomplished:

  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • 2 Years of Higher education preferred
  • 2 + years of experience in an Office/Facilities related role
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Proven ability to manage time efficiently
  • Effective communicator, verbally and in writing, with employees of all levels
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, maintaining an attitude of anything is possible
  • Some knowledge of electrical, HVAC, and other construction trades preferred

We're located in the heart of Santa Monica on Michigan + Cloverfield, just off the 10 freeway. Bergamont train station is right behind our office.
