WHY WE NEED YOU

The Facilities team is responsible for the day-to-day operations for all Los Angeles Virgin Hyperloop facilities, ensuring that all related infrastructure needs are meant to help improve and maintain VH’s Test sites, campuses, Labs, office spaces and surrounding areas that promote a healthy work environment.  VHO needs a new Facilities Tech to join our team to assist with routine building maintenance tasks, supporting our engineers with building test rigs and lab spaces, while also assisting shipping and receiving when needed. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Facilities Technician is responsible for performing routine building and campus maintenance tasks in multiple areas such as carpentry, welding, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fabrication, and general cleaning.  This individual will also be responsible for also assisting in the day-to-day operations including maintenance services and general campus upkeep.  You will…

Facilities

  • Execute site specific Lab & workspace installations
  • Collaborate with Test & Development, as well as Engineering teams, on multiple projects including fabrication of custom toolage, customize shipping crates for fragile test equipment, and installation of test equipment
  • Respond to internal Facilities helpdesk ticket system to address facilities and employee needs
  • Support the Operations team with office’s needs, events, vendors, shipping & receiving, security and all other related tasks
  • Maintain all equipment under the internal PM program and troubleshoot company equipment, repair, and run diagnostics when needed
  • Support Facilities Inventory management program of company assets and equipment
  • Conduct site supervision of contractors when needed and continuously observe sites for improvements
  • Provide safe workspace for employees by maintaining/cleaning buildings and lab space areas daily Per OSHA and EHS Dept guidelines 

WHAT YOU’VE DONE

  • Construction, fabrication, and/or Facility maintenance experience
  • Detailed experience with power tools, operating facility machinery, or mechanic shop tools
  • Experience with HVAC systems, electrical & plumbing
  • Experience of internal ticket/work order systems
  • Some experience in Shipping & receiving, inventory processes, or warehouse exposure
  • Proven experience with Preventive Maintenance programs
  • Understanding of Inventory management process
  • Candidate must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety guidelines
  • Candidate must have a valid driver’s license
  • You must be able to operate large 26’ box trucks, bobtail trucks, and steak bed trucks
  • Experienced professional with a background working in a fast-paced corporate environment

MUST HAVE

  • You are a detail-oriented Facilities professional that is not afraid of rolling up your sleeves to get the job done
  • You are comfortable getting in the weeds to complete your work and while you thrive working independently you are also capable of working in a team-oriented environment
  • Must have proven experience and is willing to share and transfer knowledge to improve the VHO Facilities team
  • You are comfortable with reading blueprints and you understand schematics
  • MUST have some construction or fabrication experience and know your way around a toolbox.

 Certifications/experience:

  • Forklift
  • Telehandler
  • Scissor & Ariel Lift

NICE TO HAVE
• Some personal Project work in either construction, fabrication, art installations, landscaping, or auto mechanics.
