Environmental Health and Safety Manager
Anduril is looking for an Environmental Health & Safety Manager to join our rapidly growing team. As Environmental Health & Safety Manager, you’ll be responsible for Anduril’s safety and environmental policies, processes, and procedures. You’ll understand all federal, state, and local guidelines and industry best practices, and work to improve Anduril’s processes.
You’ll roll up your sleeves from day one and jump right in, both crafting plans and strategies, while also owning the tactical responsibilities of the job yourself. You’ll partner with a variety of individuals, including individuals on our Shop, Manufacturing, Facilities, and Supply Chain teams, working to craft cross-functional improvements to our operations. You will serve as a resource to our engineering teams as needed.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Manage our sites, including: Site compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Emergency preparedness and safety plans
- Conduct safety audits at sites and build improvements
- Manage our Hazardous Materials program, including: Hazardous Material shipping and regulations
- Hazardous Material storage, handling, and disposal (and associated inventory, such as storage equipment and PPE)
- Manage exposure limits for hazardous materials, dust, and other contaminants
- Manage our emergency preparedness and safety plans, including: Identify general and team-specific environmental and safety training needs, develop programs, and execute on meeting those; develop and implement general and department-specific safety programs for the company; develop annual company safety goals and follow through with processing ideas and suggestions related to safety
- Manage injury response process
- Track safety incidents across sites and report on common causes, drive corrective actions
- Manage, restock safety equipment in all work areas
- Manage our documentation program, including: Manage the SDS management system
- Manage OSHA reporting and record keeping
- Manage shipping and disposal record keeping
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years related experience in related industry
- Advanced use of MS Word, Excel, Slack, Outlook; other productivity tools
- Experience with Federal and State (California) regulations and the ability to monitor and interpret new regulations
- Ability to understand the materials we use and implement handling policies based on regulations and best practices
- Strong independent worker who can drive outcomes with minimal oversight
- Must possess excellent problem solving, organizational and verbal & written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and an attitude of 100% compliance with all company and regulatory requirements
- Ability to work across teams in a collaborative manner
- Moves fast to solve problems
- U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data
