Engineering Program Specialist
Summary
Syng is seeking an exemplary, resourceful, and multifaceted individual for an Engineering Program Specialist (EPS) role. The EPS will assist the Engineering Program Managers (EPMs) with the development and execution of Syng’s products from product concept through shipment. The EPS will handle program logistics, materials, allocations, and finances. The EPS must have an understanding of complex Bills of Materials and documentation experience. System EPS (Engineering Program Specialist) must be able to prioritize issues and track the details, be a strong organizer, be a self-motived driver, ready to work with the Engineering Program Management and Engineering cross-functional teams to handle the risks associated with each engineering program build.

Description
The Engineering Program Specialist (EPS) will be a part of Syng’s Program Management Team, which collaborates with a multidisciplinary team that architects, designs, develops, and manufactures Syng products. This role requires ability to roll up one’s sleeves and work effectively to ensure that Syng’s product development efforts are successful.
Responsibilities
- Work with the EPMs to manage build matrices and track allocations
- Own and coordinate material readiness efforts for builds
- Engage with and follow up with suppliers/vendors on material availability
- Take care of allocations, materials schedules deliverables and logistics shipment
- Bill of Material (BOM) Management - Upload BOM into the PLM system, create part numbers, read and interpret complex BOMs
- Work with the Document Control Specialist to manage Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Create, Manage and Process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
- Work on multiple projects concurrently with a phenomenal attention to detail
- Effectively communicate and provide status updates to EPMs, executive management and other stakeholders
- Drive continues process improvements
- Interface with the manufacturers and vendors to support investigation of product/component/material issues or supply constraints
- Work closely with current and potential vendors to understand their offerings, platforms, technology solutions and integration capabilities to drive efficiencies and identify future areas of growth
- Travel overseas and locally to support builds
- Stay cool under pressure
Key Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Understand configuration management and BOM structuring for hardware products
- Proficiency in MS Excel, PLM tools - Arena is preferred but not required
- Experience working with overseas vendors
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a large cross-functional team
- Comfortable dealing with a certain degree of ambiguity
- Ability to foster communication and collaboration among team members
- Self-motivated and proactive with critical thinking capabilities
- Experience working in consumer electronics and developing processes to scale new products
- Ability to travel internationally multiple times a year

Education & Experience
B.A. or B.S. Degree
3 to 5 years of Industry Experience
