Overview:

Bird is seeking an experienced Director Supply Chain to develop and lead the Bird procurement and sourcing team. This person will direct the strategic sourcing activities with an aim to provide significant supply chain value for the company and continually improve the organization as a result. This team is responsible for the negotiation of long term agreements for our vehicles and other programs as they arise. Individual must have a strategic vision to negotiate with key suppliers to support a high velocity manufacturing organization.

What You'll Do:

• Build the team, systems and processes to keep pace with aggressive growth targets
• Think outside the box to solve complex problems on a global scale with an eye toward speed and scale
• Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing to support new product efforts, strategic procurement and supplier development
• Work with a cross-functional team to continuously improve the DSP process and provide better predictability to the business
• Build the tools, systems and team to accurately track the supply chain and report to senior management
• Oversee logistics and fulfillment operations for vehicles and related components
• Support manufacturing sites with capital equipment purchases

What You'll Need:

• 8+ years of supply chain and procurement experience; 3+ years experience in manufacturing
• BSIE, BSME, BSMfgE, Master’s degree preferred as well as certifications/associations from recognized supply chain related avenues (CSCP, CPIM, CPSM, CSCMP, etc.)
• Proven experience developing procurement teams, managing agreements, and experience in a start-up environment is strongly preferred
• Strong logistics background across import/export, warehouse/3PL, product fulfillment and carrier commercial agreement negotiation experience
• Experience implementing ERP/MRP and inventory management systems
• Excellent people skills, 'on the shop floor' attitude, hands on
