Comrad is seeking an enthusiastic mission-driven Director of Operations to join our small team in Venice, CA. You’ll be the beating heart of our operations, logistics, and finances for a rapidly growing brand, defining a new category in the health & wellness vertical. You should be ready to get your hands dirty by defining some of the most important operational decisions and help us grow to the next level, managing and building a team around you and our CEO.

At Comrad, we believe in the journey taken with thoughtful intention. True wellness isn’t a tonic - it happens one step at a time, from the ground up. Through science, coupled with conscious design, we want to empower you to take a step toward optimized living— for everything you care about. To give you the momentum to keep flowing, squeezing more of what you want from each day.

Call it science-based apparel for self-care. Wearable wellness that works. Whatever you call us, we’re here to develop thoughtful products that promote your best state of living, from head to toe. Why? Because your energy inspires us.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Work directly with our CEO to execute on the vision for Comrad.

  • Oversee the entirety of the product production and logistics process - from purchase order to 3PL to arriving in the customer’s hands.

  • Compile monthly metrics and establish KPI’s across all aspects of the business

  • Directly manage and draw conclusions from high-level customer service data in order to steer various aspects of the business.

  • Place purchase orders, track production, set up inbound shipping, and oversee vendor payment.

  • Make data-driven decisions around inventory planning and forecasting

  • Oversee and manage our 3PL, logistics, and supply chain processes and workflows and create cost efficiencies by negotiating with vendors as we scale and finding creative solutions.

  • Manage a cross-functional team of creatives, customer success managers, product developers, and marketers on new product launches, retail pop-ups, e-commerce roll-outs, and partnerships from ideation to execution.

  • Oversee our outsourced finance team and CFO; including approving bills, overseeing financial models to ensure we are hitting KPIs, and ensuring healthy cash flow management as we scale.

  • Build strategy, get buy-in, and then execute the roll-out of new sales and distribution channels including retail, corporate and bulk-wholesale orders, and cross-selling partnerships.

Experience & Requirements:

• 4-6 years of experience running operations for a growing e-commerce brand

• 1-2 experience in young, nascent start-up environments

• Experience establishing financial and operational KPIs and managing and building teams internally and remotely

• Deep understanding and expertise of financial operations including cash flow and budget control, inventory planning, 3PL, investor relations and debt facilities
• Proven experience scaling with a company from single-digit employees to double-digit employees is a plus

Who You Are

You thrive in a fast-paced environment where decisions are made on the fly and always backed up with data. You're super organized, detail-oriented to a point of OCD, and self-motivated with a natural curiosity for consumer behavior. Most importantly, you’re a trustworthy individual who wants a challenging opportunity to make the world better than you left it and is looking to grow personally and professionally. You do what you say and say what you mean.
