JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Operations will provide overall direction and guidance to the operational activities of the company. Provides strategic leadership and management to Operations and will strive to maximize growth and profitability. Will develop and manage KPIs to streamline and optimize team performance according to the company and client’s SLA’s and policies. Develops and implements long and short term strategies to achieve financial and growth targets. Develops emerging talent and creates a work environment that promotes the values of NEXT Trucking. This role will report to the CEO.

Responsibilities and Opportunities

• Responsible for supporting the company strategy including growth and transformational initiatives.
• Develops operation strategies to align with company goals and ensures targets are achieved.
• Overall responsibility for financial management, P&L results and management of KPIs to achieve operating goals. Responsible for ensuring results are achieved against targets.
• Ensures operational excellence through standardization of existing practices, risk assessment and review of key performance metrics.
• Provides leadership and creates an environment that fosters passion, teamwork and agility within the organization.
• Leads the hiring, training and motivating of Operation team and creates an environment that improves employee engagement.
• Builds and sustains long-term client relationships.
• Supports local, regional and national sales initiatives by partnering with VP of Sales to deliver a high level of client focus to business initiatives.
• Develops and implements an operations strategy tailored to our client that identifies opportunities to improve cost control and margin improvement and will lead to organic growth.
• Works collaboratively and establishes solid business relationships with supporting departments including but not limited to: Engineering, Human Resources, Sales, and Finance.

What you'll need to be successful

• A minimum of 10 years in operations management and at least 5 years’ experience as an executive leader managing multiple fast growing operations.
• Direct experience developing and preparing budgets and actively participating in financial reviews with a solid understanding of standard and actual cost variances
• Has led high-performing teams. Can recruit, develop and motivate superior talentPossess the ability to motivate and maintain effective working relationships with staff and partners.
• Successfully work to reach company goals in an environment in which a wide degree of creativity and latitude is requiredResults-oriented and able to work under pressure in a results oriented environment.
• Ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve KPI’s.
• Ability to think outside the box and challenge established thinking with new ideas and approaches to solving problems.
• Must excel at teaming up with members of the operations, finance, product teams and client representatives to troubleshoot and solve existing problems.
• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or Logistics or equivalent fields is requiredMaster’s degree preferred.
