Riot Games was established in 2006 by entrepreneurial gamers who believe that player-focused game development can result in great games. In 2009, Riot released its debut title League of Legends to critical and player acclaim. As the most played PC game in the world, over 100 million play every month. Players form the foundation of our community and it’s for them that we continue to evolve and improve the League of Legends experience.

We’re looking for humble but ambitious, razor-sharp professionals who can teach us a thing or two. We promise to return the favor. Like us, you take play seriously; you’re passionate about games. We embrace those who see things differently, aren’t afraid to experiment, and who have a healthy disregard for constraints.

That's where you come in.

As the Director of Learning and Organizational Effectiveness, you will provide organization effectiveness and learning expertise to teams and key decision-makers to support the strategic direction of Riot Games. Deploy strategic models and behavioral theory to plan, design, and implement organization opportunities affecting multiple disciplines or products to uphold culture and values of the company in a highly productive fashion. Connect with leaders across Riot to enhance organizational effectiveness and build quality relationships across the Riot by providing and implementing organizational effectiveness tools and strategies. Provide coaching to senior leaders and managers.

You are:

  • A trusted manager: you lead, support and mentor your teammates on and off the clock; you offer guidance and encouragement when the team needs support and fist bumps when they're kicking ass
  • A leader: you guide teams down the right paths even if they're unpopular or difficult to traverse; your unshakeable confidence and cool head makes others look towards you when sirens are blaring and all hell is generally breaking loose
  • Empathetic: you're comfortable commingling with all types of people, and you care for the folks around you; when someone needs personal or professional advice, you're there to offer guidance and, ideally, cookies
  • Armed with insight: like the 5-star chef knows their kitchen, you understand the technology, trends, and best practices currently affecting your field; you continually strive to improve your skills while staying in the know about what the competition might be cooking up
  • Comfortable with ambiguity: when changes are made, you keep a cool head and fight on, even if you don't have all the details; you're comfortable moving between projects and facing the uncertain because risk and change motivates you to evolve and innovate

You will:

  • Lead a learning team that is highly focused on leadership and management development, as well as providing highly valued learning content to the entire company through appropriate channels.
  • Lead the performance management team and provide oversight and direction on the performance management ecosystem, which includes goal setting, 360s/feedback, assessment, calibration, and succession planning.
  • Understand the culture of Riot Games and makes recommendations to meet key initiatives effectively. You work as a strategist and change agent in support of improving the culture at Riot.
  • Support organizational effectiveness efforts by conducting needs assessments and gap analyses. You leverage data, feedback, and other methods of measuring performance and effectiveness to direct initiatives and provides recommendations to key stakeholders to meet goals and objectives.
  • Provide organizational effectiveness expertise, which includes: strategic planning; systems thinking; change management; consulting; leadership development and coaching; team formation and development; and facilitation.
  • Gain commitment of the leadership team at Riot by developing a strategy, execution plan, metrics, and opportunities to improve the learning programs over time.

Don’t forget to include a resume and cover letter. We receive a lot of applications, but we’ll notice a fun, well-written intro that shows us you take play seriously.
