Team Overview


As the Director of Compliance, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of company-wide Compliance: Policies and Procedures, Risk Assessments,Training and Communication, Monitoring and Testing, and Reporting. You will also ensure that Dave adheres to all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and agency guidance, as well as industry standard practices.

What You'll Do

  • Manage enterprise Compliance Management at Dave, including the management and oversight of policies and programs related to corporate enterprise risk, compliance management and financial crimes
  • Enhance and improve Dave’s Compliance program and platform for scalable growth 
  • Continue to develop Dave’s high-performance Compliance team while executing against key company goals
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, keeping abreast of recent changes 
  • Assess the business impact of new and evolving legal and regulatory requirements and developments on Dave’s products and services
  • Conduct annual, company-wide risk assessments to identify the Company’s highest risks and mitigating factors
  • Develop annual compliance work plan
  • Provide guidance to executives and employees on compliance programs, policies, procedures, and requirements 
  • Manage and Improve existing cross-department processes and workflows
  • Manage internal compliance review and monitoring activities
  • Maintain records and report on the status and effectiveness of Dave’s compliance program to senior management, relevant business partners, and other key stakeholders 
  • Coordinate and participate in a multifaceted educational and training program that focuses on the elements of the compliance program, and ensure that all appropriate employees and management are knowledgeable of, and comply with, pertinent federal and state laws and regulations, as well as industry standards 

What You’ll Need

  • 10+ years of legal or compliance experience in the FinTech space 
  • 5+ years of direct people management experience with a successful track record
  • Bachelor degree. Juris Doctor, AML/CFT certified, ACAMS, or CFE highly recommended 
  • Have specific knowledge of key law, regulations, guidance, and industry-standard practices including but not limited to UDAAP, GLBA, BSA/AML, SAR/CTR filing, Sanctions, InfoSecurity Frameworks ISO 1799-2005, PCI-DSS, GDPR/CCPA, etc. and associated regulations 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently 
  • Speak and write clearly and concisely, adapt to the audience and express complex ideas in understandable and effective ways such as clear and concise reports, presentations, as well as speaking effectively to employees, members, vendors, and the public 
  • Skilled in interviewing, leading, directing, coaching, motivating, delegating, evaluating, counseling, and recognizing assigned employees 
  • Be action-oriented, collaborative and solutions-focused 
  • Work well with ambiguity and multiple priorities while balancing the interests of multiple stakeholders 
  • Act with discretion, strict confidentiality and sensitivity toward issues and individuals
