Responsibilities

As a Brand Safety Specialist, you will be on the front lines, handling sensitive, complex user-facing issues. You will leverage learnings to build at-scale operations, enhance operational workflow/process, and safety-first support solutions. You will also help shape team strategies while executing team objectives. This role calls for the use of complex project management, cross-functional collaboration, and data-driven decision making. You will be working with a variety of stakeholders across the globe, including Product and Process, Policy, Strategy & Analytics, Risk Control, and Quality Assurance to ensure that TikTok can detect, triage, and, if possible, prevent safety incidents from proliferating on our platform. This role also requires creative solutions, especially with moderation and quality, as well as a deep understanding of abusive trends specific to US cultural norms and sensitivities. The candidate must have an interest and professional expertise are grounded in extra-curricular and academic subjects related to internet policy, user behavior, or platform management. This position will be full-time and based in Los Angeles, CA.

Responsibilities - Maintain expert understanding of TikTok’s policies, procedures, app features, and internal documents. - Communicate with teams outside of US safety to detect, investigate, and mediate high risk mismoderation and escalations. - Align with policy, quality assurance, and management partner teams to ensure consistent policy enforcement and timely execution. - Identify existing policy and procedure gaps, inconsistencies, or conflicts and take appropriate action. - Participates in the development and implementation of safety operation processes and procedures. - Assist in providing comprehensive and ongoing product line management designed to inform the stakeholders about policy, procedures changes, recent trends, updates, etc. - Analyze and identify trends on TikTok to ensure viral and promoted content meets community guideline standards. - Safety first mindset with an emphasis on proactive risk detection and mitigation. - Provide 24/7 support for the internal stakeholders and global team(s).

Qualifications

- Minimum BA/BS - 1 to 2+ years of work experience in Trust & Safety, operational, or risk management roles - Background in operational excellence with a proven ability to structure policy and process-oriented milestones - Strong communication and writing skills with high regard to detail - highly self-driven and results oriented - Proven ability to develop sound research methodologies and collect, synthesize, analyze, and interpret data - Positive attitude to work through ever-changing and dynamic operational conditions - Experience working with international partners in different time zones
