Job Description
The Operations Supervisor is a critical leadership role responsible for the day-to-day operational success of a BAE Systems field service site. This individual ensures that all site activities-including maintenance, repair, and equipment testing-are executed safely, efficiently, and in strict accordance with quality and regulatory standards. The Operations Supervisor serves as a primary bridge between tactical site execution and strategic program management, supporting the Site Manager and Program Manager in achieving operational milestones and maintaining a high-performance working environment.
Key Responsibilities
Site Operational Leadership
Daily Operations: Oversee all daily site activities, ensuring the seamless execution of maintenance, repairs, and testing for equipment and vehicles.
Resource Planning: Collaborate with the Site Manager and Program Manager to develop and implement site plans, focusing on direct labor utilization, goal setting, and milestone achievement.
Problem Resolution: Identify and proactively address technical, logistical, and personnel challenges to minimize operational downtime.
Reporting & Analytics: Analyze operational data and key performance indicators (KPIs) regarding quality, safety, and performance to support data-driven decision-making.
Quality & Safety Governance
Program Development: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive site-wide Quality and Safety programs.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all operations meet or exceed ISO 9001 (Quality) and OSHA (Safety) standards.
Audit & Inspection: Lead regular internal audits and inspections to ensure continuous compliance and risk mitigation.
Training: Establish and deliver training and awareness programs to ensure all site personnel are proficient in current quality and safety procedures.
Logistics & Personnel Management
Team Support: Provide direct leadership and support to technicians and administrative staff, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
Inventory Control: Manage BAE-controlled inventory, including spare parts, tools, and equipment (independent of program assets).
Supply Chain Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for suppliers and manufacturers to ensure the timely delivery of critical components and services.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Operational Management: Proven experience supervising operations within a field service or industrial environment.
Regulatory Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of OSHA and ISO 9001 standards.
California Compliance: Demonstrated familiarity with California-specific regulations, including Cal/OSHA and state-level environmental mandates regarding waste management and pollution prevention.
Logistics: Experience in inventory management and supply chain coordination.
Leadership: Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams of technicians and administrative staff.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification: Professional certifications in Quality Management (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO Auditor) or Safety (e.g., OSHA 30).
Permitting: Experience obtaining and maintaining state and local operational permits within the state of California.
Defense Industry Experience: Previous experience working within a defense contracting environment or on a government-funded program.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
4 year degree in Org Ops and/or Business

Full-Time Salary Range: $67406 - $114590
