Operations Research Analyst

Primary responsibilities for the position:

(A) Collect various information and data from multiple data systems, identify problems and employ advanced analytics and statistics to help the company make informed decisions to solve these problems.

(Use professional knowledge/skills to collect and analyze data from various sources to identify problems encountered, seek high-valued opportunities and develop a data-driven plan to solve identified problems. This typically takes the form of employing data mining techniques to collect pertinent information to paint the optimal decision to drive various business metrics (ex: revenue, user acquisition, etc.). This include the following: a) Regression modeling (linear, logistic, and multivariate regression) to evaluate drivers of ridership, revenue, and vehicle utilization, b) Time-series forecasting models (ARIMA, SARIMA, Prophet) to predict demand and fleet usage patterns, c) Hypothesis testing and statistical inference (t-tests, chi-square tests, ANOVA) to validate operational changes, d) Optimization modeling (linear programming, mixed-integer programming) to determine optimal allocation of fleet resources, e) Clustering and segmentation methods (k-means, hierarchical clustering) to identify rider patterns and geographic demand clusters., f) Geospatial analytics including spatial joins, heatmaps, and demand surface modeling.)

(B) Design and develop decision tools used in real time by the operations business unit to maximize key metrics such as vehicle uptime (availability).  

(Use highly technical skills comprising software engineering (Python, SQL, JavaScript, and HTML) and mathematics to develop dashboards and applications that can be used by Operations Managers to make the right decisions in their respective markets that yield positive customer experiences and business outcomes. One common data source that will be utilized in conducting advanced analytics is geospatial data, which will be used in building dashboards (custom, Tableau, and Google Data Studio) to view the concentration of scooters, rider hot spots, and infer customer demand.)

(C) Collaborate with management as well as market leaders to understand all aspects of Veo's business and support their efficiency initiatives.

(Collaborate with company leadership to derive metrics that drive our business in an optimal direction, interface with various departments of the company and market leaders, gather relevant information and data, and make recommendations to the management as how to allocate resources, develop production schedules, and oversee the supply chain, among other Operations aspects.)

(D) Provide findings and analysis, technical support when required by leadership. Write reports and other documents explaining the findings and recommendations for managers, executives, and other officials of the company.

(Use quantitative findings into interpretable reports or data products (ex: interactive dashboards, visualizations), and inform the leadership the intended interpretation of said findings, provide recommendations for the leadership.)

Minimum Requirement:

  • Master of Science degree in Analytics
  • 1 year past experience.
