Dandy is transforming the massive and antiquated dental industry—an industry worth over $200B. Backed by some of the world’s leading venture capital firms, we’re on an ambitious mission to simplify and modernize every function of the dental practice through technology. As we expand our reach globally, Dandy is building the operating system for dental offices around the world—empowering clinicians and their teams with technology, innovation, and world-class support to achieve more for their practices, their people, and their patients.

About the Role

We're scaling fast, and we need an Operations Manager who thrives in complexity and moves with urgency. In this role, you'll be at the heart of our operations engine, driving the strategy and execution required to scale production at unprecedented volume and speed. This isn't just about keeping the lights on—it's about building the operational backbone for hypergrowth.

This role sits on our Design Operations team and is focused on building infrastructure and developing strategic initiatives that solve complex business problems spanning multiple core functions. You'll lead projects that determine how we scale operationally across a distributed footprint, and how we coordinate that scale cross-functionally—from Design to Quality to Product & Engineering.

If you're energized by deep analysis, complex systems, and building scalable infrastructure, this is the role for you.

What You'll Do

  • Build scalable systems: Collaborate with workforce, quality, and training teams to improve systems, build data reporting, and innovate new workstreams

  • Partner with product to develop custom tooling and automated solutions that increase efficiency and promote high quality outcomes

  • Own architecture & strategy: Partner with Product and Data to define system requirements, align on architecture decisions, and roll out enhancements.

  • Work with 3rd party vendors to create automated design solutions

  • Ensure visibility & accountability: Build data tracking to analyze workforce and tooling performance to drive continuous improvement across teams

  • Understand deep technical problems and translate them into high level summaries for senior management and executive teams

  • Operationalize improvements: Diagnose bottlenecks, design solutions, and lead pilots/rollouts to close gaps

  • Cross-functional leadership: Act as the connective tissue between Strategy Operations, Product, Data, Design, and Manufacturing, ensuring system architecture reflects operational realities and future scale needs

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years in operations, manufacturing, or systems-focused roles (consulting, strategy, or product ops experience a plus).

  • Strong program/project management skills with experience delivering cross-functional system rollouts.

  • Can effectively prioritize projects according to impact and business needs

  • Ability to think along long term and near term timelines

  • Ability to build workstreams from 0 to 1 in support of new product introductions

  • Experience designing and implementing systems for scale

  • Data-driven problem solver; comfortable using SQL, Looker, or similar tools to build visibility and drive decisions.

  • Strong communicator who can translate operational needs into system requirements and influence cross-functional partners.

  • Self-starter with high ownership, detail orientation, and ability to drive clarity in ambiguous environments.

Bonus Points For

  • Outstanding professional references to share

  • Experience with marketplace models

  • Part of a startup acquisition or IPO

  • Relentlessly positive attitude, strong sense of humor, and the ability to have fun at work

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
