Job Summary

Landrum & Brown is seeking an Operational Manager for Landrum & Brown Global Operations, providing managerial oversight of a successful and growth-oriented business to ensure financial profitability and delivering recommendations to execute on the strategic plans of the firm. You will foster a culture of fiscal acuity, and shared accountability for attaining growth, sales and profitability targets through leadership and education. You will impact, lead and imbed a proactive business development culture, ensuring the success factors are present for an engaged and high performing employee team. You will oversee the technical practice and in the effective management and delivery of projects, ensure client expectations are met and exceeded and that sustainable growth objectives are achieved.
This is a key role, providing input and executing against the strategic plan for the US Region, reporting to the President.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Primary Accountabilities:

  • Leadership and performance management of the US Regional business. Performance indicators to be developed are (Net Service Revenues, Gross Operating Income, Utilization, Project Margin, Overhead Expenditures; Backlog growth; Days Sales Outstanding).
  • Provide Operational Management of all projects to ensure overall health and profitability. Will establish corrective plan and measures to mitigate risk and positively impact project outcomes. Will work with Executive Business Leaders and PM’s to ensure best practices are maintained and evaluated.
  • With a client centric approach, enable sustainable growth, setting benchmarks in Services and Competencies, improving our capabilities to enable expansion and delivery of technical excellence through high performing teams.
  • Focuses on executing strategies that broaden and deepen revenue streams with key clients.  Identify client needs and industry trends.
  • Provides support to the Practice Leadership for pursuits/teaming opportunities and intersects with the Senior Managers in the pursuit of large projects and in the deployment of resources to sustain projects.
  • Collaborate with other centers of expertise across Global Infrastructure to bring a culture of continual improvement, innovation and a commitment to learning and development.
  • Lead and motivate staff to deliver optimal results and attract and develop people to strengthen teams in executing current and future projects.
  • Supports the delivery of projects to ensure key metrics and milestones are met and that Project Managers have the tools and competencies to effectively manage the delivery of projects to a high standard of execution.
  • Provide leadership as required to key project personnel to meet client objectives on complex projects.
  • Responsible for procurement and retention of staff utilizing  Shared Services resources in accordance with company initiatives and budget.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management, Planning, Business, Commercial Development (or related field).
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience directing multiple Aviation/Airport projects of various types and complexities, including five (5) years of leadership experience.
  • Advanced Degree a strong asset.
  • Demonstrable experience and leading and driving growth in aviation consulting.
  • Strong business acumen and experience managing teams thorough all phases of a project.
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and organizational skills.
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to multi-task combined with strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word Outlook), Deltek, and Workday.
  • High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning.
  • Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.
  • Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients’ toughest challenges.
  • High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.
  • Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.
