The Operations Manager holds a pivotal role in overseeing, strategizing, and optimizing daily operations, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals. Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the organization's objectives.

  • Streamline workflows and procedures to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

  • May supervise and mentor operational teams, ensuring they meet performance targets.

  • Ensure products/services meet quality standards through regular monitoring and improvements.

  • Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate them.

  • Maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods/services.

  • Ensure operations comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.

  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.

  • Liaise between different departments to facilitate seamless operations and communication flow.

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of research projects,
    ensuring they meet deadlines and adhere to quality standards.

  • Manage research budgets, allocate resources efficiently, and optimize
    funding for various research initiatives.

  • Supervise data collection methods, analysis techniques, and ensure
    accuracy and reliability of research findings.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align research goals with organizational objectives and integrate research findings into actionable insights.​

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree, master's degree preferred

  • 5 or more years of related experience working in an academic scientific research setting

  • Strong project management experience is required

  • Understanding of operational processes, supply chain, and logistics

  • Knowledge of budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis.

  • Understanding of the industry-specific operational requirements.

  • Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations impacting operations.

  • Utilizing software and tools for process optimization and data analysis.

  • Ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams effectively.

  • Capacity to identify issues and develop effective solutions.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with various stakeholders.

  • Capability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.

  • Organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to think long-term and align operations with organizational goals.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing environments and prioritize tasks accordingly.

  • Confidence in making timely and informed decisions

  • Capacity to handle conflicts and resolve issues within teams or departments.

  • Ensuring accuracy and precision in managing operations.

  • Knowledge of various research methodologies, qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques.

  • Ability to use statistical software/tools for data analysis and interpretation.

Pay Range: $74,772 - $125,184 based on years of related experience
