About

Amidon Heavy Industries is rebuilding the industrial backbone of the ocean. We develop autonomous surface vessels and subsea systems that replace ship-based workflows and transform how energy, telecom, and infrastructure are built and maintained. Our technology makes offshore work faster, safer, and radically more efficient.

The Role

We are hiring an Operations Associate to work directly with the CEO on building the company from the inside out. This is an unstructured role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, takes ownership without waiting for direction, and delivers results fast. You will handle execution across operations, logistics, recruiting, finance, and special projects.

You will not be managing a process. You will be creating it. This role is central to scaling Amidon from prototype to production and will expose you to every part of the business.

Qualifications

  • Deep curiosity and intellectual range. You want to learn how the whole machine works.

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a demanding environment such as banking, consulting, venture, engineering, or startups. We don’t care where you come from, just that you’re a killer.

Responsibilities

  • Execute high-priority projects across operations, logistics, recruiting, finance, and product

  • Build and refine internal systems for supply chain, HR, finance, and company operations

  • Coordinate cross-functional workstreams and ensure milestones are met

  • Handle critical details such as vendor management, purchasing, compliance, and documentation

  • Support strategic initiatives including fundraising, partnerships, and field operations

  • Identify problems early and close gaps before they become issues

  • Work directly with leadership to establish the company’s operating rhythm

The Right Person

You are not looking for a narrow career track. You want to build something real. You like hard problems, fast environments, and direct responsibility. You take pride in high standards and you close loops without being asked. You see what needs to get done and you do it.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
