Vast is looking for an Operations Specialist, reporting to the Operations Manager to support the operations of the factory that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. This will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Long Beach offices. This position will enable employees to be productive and excited about their experience at work.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in all aspects of organizing and moving equipment and supplies Obtain bids from contractors for additional support
- Evaluate and coordinate offsite storage of excess equipment and supplies Assemble furniture and ensure employees have seats for onboarding
- Review plans and drawings to ensure understanding of layouts
- Answer questions regarding the scope and/or timing of the project
- Ordering & stocking of supplies as needed
- Event set-up and coordination
- Various miscellaneous tasks that will assist in the day to day general operations of the company
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience with facilities within an aerospace industry
- Familiar with space planning procedures and operations
- Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to easily navigate through different computer software programs
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to make independent judgments with limited information
- Communication skills for relaying data (verbally and in-writing) between other employees, vendors, and customers
- Logical and strategic approach to solving problems
- Comfortable working in a high-stress environment balancing several projects at any given time, and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic direction.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to work overtime, or weekends to support critical mission milestones
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs unassisted
Pay Range:
- L1: Operation Specialist I: $28.02 per hour - $35.14 per hour
L2: Operation Specialist II: $29.12 per hour - $41.34 per hour
