Riot’s Enterprise Technology organization ensures Rioters have what they need to unlock their full potential by delivering secure, scalable, and efficient technology solutions. The Finance Technology team focuses on modernizing financial systems, optimizing workflows, and ensuring long-term sustainability of Riot’s finance ecosystem.
As a OneStream Application Engineer (Finance Tech), you will be responsible for the administration, operation, and governance of Riot’s OneStream platform. This role focuses on system administration, upgrades/out of the box module implementation, ETL data flows, data governance, reporting automation, documentation, and user enablement, ensuring the platform is stable, well-governed, and effectively adopted by the Finance organization. You will partner closely with a senior application engineer who will lead technical system development and integrations, contributing operational expertise and execution excellence.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day OneStream system administration, including environments, access controls, upgrades, patching, and release readiness
  • Support and operate ETL data pipelines from upstream systems, including monitoring loads, troubleshooting issues, validating data, and maintaining data flow documentation
  • Apply and support data governance standards across metadata, hierarchies, and approval workflows
  • Configure dashboards, Cube Views, and standardized reports to automate recurring financial reporting and reduce manual effort
  • Provide operational support for Finance users through ticket resolution, office hours, and day-to-day troubleshooting
  • Develop and maintain playbooks, runbooks, and user guides to support consistent and scalable platform usage
  • Participate in UAT, regression testing, and post-release validation to ensure system stability
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience
  • 4-6+ years of experience supporting enterprise financial systems or EPM platforms (e.g., OneStream, Hyperion, SAP BPC)
  • 2-3+ years of hands-on experience administering or supporting OneStream, including environments, upgrades, metadata, and security
  • Experience supporting ETL processes, financial data pipelines, or system integrations
  • Working knowledge of SQL and business rules for troubleshooting, validation, and minor enhancements
  • Experience with Master Data Management concepts, including hierarchies, metadata governance, and approval workflows
  • Strong documentation and communication skills, with experience creating user-facing guides and operational playbooks
Desired Qualifications:
  • Certified OneStream Professional (OCP) or progress toward certification
  • Experience supporting system upgrades and release management
  • Familiarity with Workday, Coupa, Concur, or similar finance systems
  • Understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and audit-related controls in financial systems
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, operationally complex environment

For this role, you'll find success through craft expertise, a collaborative spirit, and decision-making that prioritizes your fellow Rioters, who are the customers of your work.  Being a dedicated fan of games is not necessary for this position!

Our Perks:

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
