About Code Metal

Code Metal is redefining code translation for mission-critical industries, enabling defense, automotive, and semiconductor partners to move more quickly and reliably from algorithm to silicon. As we grow our presence in San Francisco, we’re investing in a dedicated office space to support our team, partners, and mission. We’re looking for a Bay Area-based office manager/executive assistant and operations generalist to help make that office — and the people working in it — run smoothly.

The Role:

Own the day-to-day operations of our downtown San Francisco office while providing executive and operational support across the team. This role exists to remove friction, keep things organized, and ensure leaders and teammates can focus on high-impact work instead of logistics.

You’ll be the first person in this role and will operate as a one-person office and admin function at the start — building systems, solving problems, and taking ownership of whatever needs doing. The scope will evolve based on your strengths and the company’s needs.

This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in being reliable, proactive, and trusted — the person who makes things work.

Why Code Metal?

  • Mission with impact: Support a team accelerating mission-critical industries
  • Velocity: Small teams, tight loops, and the autonomy to solve problems quickly
  • Trust: You’ll be relied on as a partner, not just support
  • Ownership: This is a true owner role — you’ll shape how our SF office and internal operations

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and manage Code Metal’s new SF office, including vendors, supplies, access, utilities, and maintenance
  • Own the day-to-day office experience, ensuring the space is organized, functional, and welcoming (including A/V setup and conference room readiness)
  • Provide executive and team support, including scheduling, calendar management, travel coordination, and meeting logistics
  • Support systems and tools as needed (e.g., light Salesforce administration, data hygiene, reporting)
  • Anticipate needs and proactively reduce administrative and operational burden on leadership
  • Take ownership of tasks and projects that don’t yet have a clear home
  • Help document, improve, and scale internal processes as the company grows

Requirements

  • Experience in office management, executive assistance, operations, or a similar role in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfort operating independently and owning outcomes end-to-end
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent judgment, discretion, and communication skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities without dropping the ball
  • Comfort with modern workplace tools (Google Workspace, calendars, basic systems); Salesforce experience a plus
  • Willingness to work primarily in-office in San Francisco
  • US Citizen or Green Card Holder

Benefits

Benefits

  • Pay depends on experience, but we strive to be at the upper end of the salary range
  • Health care plan with 100% premium coverage, including medical, dental, and vision.
  • 401k with 5% matching.
  • Paid Time Off (Uncapped Vacation, plus Sick & Public Holidays).

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
