ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a strategic, execution-oriented OEM Director to own and manage VAST Data’s partnerships with Supermicro and Lenovo globally. This role is responsible for defining and executing the joint go-to-market (GTM), product integration, and field enablement strategy with both partners. The ideal candidate will blend strategic thinking with operational execution and will collaborate closely with VAST’s product, engineering, support, and field organizations to accelerate revenue through these strategic OEMs.

Key Responsibilities

Partnership & GTM Strategy

  • Define and evolve the joint GTM strategy for Supermicro and Lenovo in alignment with VAST’s global priorities.
  • Develop integrated product strategies with both partners, aligning on roadmap, solution packaging, and joint value propositions.
  • Establish clear goals and milestones for each partnership, driving alignment through quarterly planning and executive steering engagements.

Enablement & Field Support

  • Support and enable local alliance managers and regional resources who drive field-level engagement and sales execution.
  • Ensure partner field teams are trained, enabled, and motivated to position and sell VAST-based solutions.
  • Align closely with VAST’s field and channel sales teams to drive joint pipeline generation and deal acceleration.

Marketing & Awareness

  • Define and lead the execution of a joint marketing strategy with both partners, including campaigns, demand generation, co-branding, solution briefs, and event presence.
  • Coordinate launch activities, press engagements, and awareness-building initiatives to amplify partnership impact.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with VAST product management and engineering teams to ensure alignment on solution integration, joint testing, and roadmap visibility.
  • Engage with support and services to ensure seamless customer experience and joint support models.

KPIs & Governance

  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs), success metrics, and governance frameworks to track progress, manage escalations, and report outcomes.
  • Maintain dashboards and reports that provide visibility to internal stakeholders and partner executives on the health of the alliances.

Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in strategic alliances, business development, or OEM/channel roles in enterprise infrastructure, data platforms, or adjacent markets.
  • Proven success in managing global relationships with OEMs or large hardware partners such as Lenovo, Supermicro, Dell, or HPE.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise storage, server platforms, and AI infrastructure.
  • Exceptional ability to align cross-functional teams and communicate at both executive and operational levels.
  • Comfortable managing strategic vision and tactical execution in parallel.
  • Willingness to travel to partner locations and VAST field teams globally.
