The Boeing Defense and Security (BDS) organization is seeking an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist (Associate or Mid-Level) to join the Environment, Health and Safety's (EHS) team in Mesa, AZ. Our team is open to a broad range of experience levels including Level 2 and Level 3 specialists to find the best fit for the position.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Prepares compliance and technical reports to meet Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulatory requirements

  • Performs program reviews, investigates incidents and provides corrective action to prevent reoccurrence of incidents

  • Evaluates workplace hazards

  • Provides input to new business opportunities and facilities projects to ensure compliance

  • Conducts education and training to support regulatory and business requirements

  • Evaluates impact of new regulations on company operations

  • Reviews vendor, contractor and supplier activities for EHS compliance for site processes and program goals

  • Provides technical assistance on EHS issues and regulations

  • Prioritizes EHS efforts in order to have the greatest impact on the number and severity of incidents

  • Connects with management when a work operation needs modification or suspension due to an EHS issue

  • Assists in implementation of EHS programs

  • Prepares and distributes monthly EHS meeting presentations and metrics

  • Monitors the progress of corrective action plans

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ year of experience working in Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS)

  • 1+ year of experience assessing and evaluating risk

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a safety-related field

  • Associate Safety Professional or Certified Safety Professional certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals

Summary Pay Range (Associate, Level 2): $79,050 - $106,950

Summary Pay Range (Experienced, Level 3): $ 95,200 - $128,800
