The Healthy First Steps Medical Directors (HFS MDs) team is within the Women's Health Team at Enterprise Clinical Services. The Per Diem HFS Medical Director works together with our HFS operations team to provide clinical expertise and review data trends in the markets we manage. The position drives performance across our organization by communicating with hospital physicians and utilization management staff at client hospitals to champion best practices for evidence-based care. HFS MDs work closely with HFS nurses reviewing clinical information provided, communicating with providers as they progress in care, providing utilization management (UM) reviews, and facilitate discharge planning. The HFS MD will join a group of obstetricians at HFS where teamwork, communication, and ongoing education are valued.

Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $119.47 - $179.33 per hour. Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Primary Responsibilities:
- Engage with a team of obstetricians and HFS nurses in the evaluation of the high-risk maternity patient
- Per-dem position requiring weekend-only availability (remote)
- Participate in nursing education as it relates to obstetrics
- Conduct provider telephonic review and discussion, schedules on-site visits and shares tools, information and guidelines related to cost-effective health care delivery and quality of care
- Support all clinical quality initiatives and peer review processes
- Appropriate utilization management
- Clinical lead for healthcare affordability initiatives at the local market
- Effectively engage and bring understanding to our external constituents such as physicians, medical and specialty societies, hospitals and hospital associations, and state regulators
- Deliver the clinical value proposition focused on quality, affordability and service, in support of the sales and growth activities
- Identifying opportunities through participation in local medical expense committees or market reviews
- Participate in data analysis reviewing market trends with the Product team and health plans
- Engage with clients reporting trends in individual markets
- Engage with Neonatology colleagues in Women's Health

Required Qualifications:
- MD or DO with an active, unrestricted license
- Board Certified in Obstetrics/Gynecology
- 5+ years clinical practice experience after completing residency training
- Experience in utilization and clinical coverage review
- Solid understanding of Evidence based Medicine (EBM)
- Solid PC skills, specifically using MS Word, Outlook and Excel
- Proven excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, facilitation skills
- Proven excellent presentation skills for both clinical and non-clinical audiences
- Ability to work weekend schedule and occasional holiday backup coverage
