The OB-GYN provides comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care, performs examinations and procedures, manages deliveries, and collaborates with healthcare professionals to ensure patient care.
Description
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the OB-GYN primary responsibility is to provide high-quality care for patients with obstetrics and gynecological conditions. This role involves diagnosing and treating a variety of ailments, performing procedures when necessary, and working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and promote overall wellness. - Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care, including routine and high-risk pregnancies, prenatal care, labor and delivery management, and postpartum care.
- Perform routine gynecological exams, including Pap smears, breast exams, and pelvic exams.
- Diagnose and treat gynecological conditions such as menstrual disorders, pelvic pain, infections, and infertility.
- Offer family planning services, including contraception counseling and procedures such as IUD insertions and sterilizations.
- Educate patients on reproductive health, prenatal care, and preventive health practices.
- Conduct in-office procedures such as colposcopies, biopsies, cryotherapy, and endometrial ablations.
- Manage and address complications during labor and delivery, including emergency interventions.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, surgeons, dietitians, and mental health providers, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and outcomes.
- Stay current with advancements in obstetrics and gynecology. Participate in continuing education opportunities.
- Comply with all safety, emergency, hazard, OSHA, sterilization, clinical, quality assurance, and administrative protocols, guidelines, and standards.
- Build and maintain patient confidence through effective communication, empathy, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
- Will cultivate teamwork, unity, harmony, goodwill and work closely with all members of the employees, staff, executive leadership, and administration.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and other relevant laws to protect patient privacy and confidentiality in all communications.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the executive leadership and administration.
Requirements
- Graduated from an accredited medical school with a degree of Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.)
- Valid state license to practice medicine.
- Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG)
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience as an OB-GYN
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate
- Qualifying to hospital admitting privileges (if required)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification (recommended)
- DEA

- Spanish speaking required.
