The Product Development Failure Analysis (PDFA) team supports new product introduction by driving early reliability learning and component-level improvements. The team partners closely with Product, Process, Quality, and Test Engineering to enable rapid production ramp and accelerated time to market for next-generation devices.
The PYE PDFA Engineer supports the transition of new devices from design to mass production by focusing on product reliability and failure analysis during early manufacturing. The role applies electrical and physical characterization, AI tools, and statistical analysis to identify and resolve failures introduced during fabrication, assembly, and testing.
Responsibilities
  • Perform product reliability and component failure analysis during new product introduction.
  • Use electrical and physical characterization techniques to identify fabrication, assembly, and test-related failures and marginalities.
  • Apply AI tools and statistical analysis to accelerate failure identification and learning.
  • Communicate and coordinate component-level improvement activities with Product, Process, Quality, and Test Engineering teams.
  • Perform engineering assignments related to hardware, software, semiconductor design, or telecommunications as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Phyiscs, or Materials Science.
  • Hands-on use of electrical and physical characterization techniques.
  • Ability to apply statistical analysis methods to identify and diagnose failures.
  • Experience collaborating with multi-functional engineering teams to drive improvements.
  • Capability to perform engineering assignments across hardware, software, semiconductor design, or telecommunications domains.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using AI-based tools to support failure analysis and reliability learning.
  • Exposure to early manufacturing or new product introduction environments.
  • Experience supporting rapid production ramp and time-to-market objectives.
