Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

ABOUT THE TEAM:

The ProductionOS team is responsible for building software that accelerates the production of customer-ready hardware. Forge is our ever-evolving, home-grown software platform that facilitates the receipt, manufacturing, deployment and maintenance of Anduril hardware across the globe. We are looking for an experienced Software Product Manager to own and elevate the manufacturing domain within the Forge platform.
WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Developing the roadmap for Forge’s manufacturing domain
  • Managing stakeholders’ requirements (Manufacturing, Hardware Product Management, Quality, Logistics, etc.) and synthesizing them into a prioritized backlog
  • Communicating across stakeholders and interested parties on Forge’s development and roadmap
  • Integrating Forge with surrounding business applications and ensuring total compatibility with data models across systems
  • Discovering and incorporating new technologies that enhance Forge’s operational leverage
  • Driving adoption and enablement of Forge across operations and business teams
  • Aligning Forge’s roadmap against targeted business outcomes
  • Monitoring and tracking user adoption and product performance to understand if business outcomes are indeed successful

Product Strategy

  • You can “see around the corner'” for your product, crafting the vision, high-level roadmap, and critical dependencies for 6-12 months into the future. You constantly engage with stakeholders to solicit input and buy-in, proactively communicating product goals and managing expectations for delivery. You escalate large trade offs and necessary decision points as needed. You work effectively with many internal teams to synthesize their needs, but are never afraid to make important decisions as the owner of your product.

Product Prioritization

  • You work backward from your strategy to set clear outcomes for your portfolio in partnership with your engineering, design, and business partners. You will support team structures that allow prioritization of competing work within rapid development cycles. You consistently let your team flex to adapt goals when needed, based on new information.

Problem discovery and Solution Generation

  • You become attached to problems, not solutions. To do this, you will seek out real-world context in the form of onsite user research, internal expert feedback, existing product data, and industry tech investigation. You will capture core workflows and translate these user needs into well-scoped requirements and success hypotheses.

Product Execution

  • From design to delivery, you fill gaps wherever needed to make your well-scoped solutions a reality. You proactively communicate with internal team members and external stakeholders, approach solutions with humility and creativity in order to hit milestones, and set a high bar for the product that you own.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five to seven years in software product development, with at least two years specifically building workflow software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to balance requirements across engineering, design, data, and business stakeholders
  • Comfortable working with internal and external stakeholders, across a wide range of technical comfort
  • Demonstrated success decomposing a problem into addressable component parts and arranging the correct sequencing
  • Proven ability to “see around corners” by crafting product strategy for 6-12 months into the future
  • Comfort in maturing a product from MVP to enterprise-grade production
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time
  • U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Manufacturing domain familiarity through industry or education
  • Experience with UI / UX web design tools (e.g. Figma)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
