The ideal candidate will be responsible for helping with the development, administration, and technical support of our NetSuite environment.  The ideal candidate will help our team by ensuring smooth operation, optimizing workflows, and providing expert support to internal teams. This role combines both hands-on technical development and critical system administration, with an emphasis on troubleshooting, customization, and ongoing system enhancements.

A day in the life…

As a NetSuite Specialist at our cybersecurity firm, my day typically starts with reviewing overnight system logs and monitoring any alerts from our NetSuite platform to ensure smooth operations. I collaborate closely with our finance and IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve any integration issues or data discrepancies that arise. Throughout the day, I might be configuring NetSuite workflows to streamline procurement processes or enhancing financial reporting capabilities to meet compliance standards. One of the highlights is conducting user training sessions to empower colleagues with new features and best practices in NetSuite usage. Amidst these tasks, I stay updated on NetSuite updates and cybersecurity trends to continually enhance our system's security posture. Each day brings new challenges and opportunities to optimize our financial and operational workflows securely within the NetSuite ecosystem.

Position Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement customizations and enhancements using SuiteScript (both SuiteScript 1.0, 2.0, and 2.1).
  • Create and maintain SuiteFlow workflows, SuiteAnalytics reports, and saved searches to support business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain custom forms, records, and fields to optimize NetSuite functionality.
  • Integrate NetSuite with other third-party systems and applications using Web Services and RESTlets.
  • Implement custom dashboards, user interfaces, and reports for various departments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve development issues and conflicts.
  • Administer and configure NetSuite to ensure optimal performance and system reliability.
  • Manage user access, roles, permissions, and workflows to maintain secure and efficient usage.
  • Regularly monitor system performance and implement necessary improvements.
  • Help with system upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities, including testing and validation.
  • Ensure data integrity through proper configuration and auditing.
  • Maintain documentation for system configurations, customizations, and integrations.
  • Provide day-to-day technical support to users across the organization by troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to NetSuite functionalities.
  • Act as the first point of contact for internal stakeholders, responding to inquiries and resolving system-related issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with functional teams to provide support in the use of NetSuite for business processes.
  • Conduct training sessions for end-users, ensuring they are proficient in utilizing NetSuite features.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge base articles and other documentation.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field or 3+ years of experience in NetSuite development, administration, and technical support.
  • Strong proficiency in SuiteScript (1.0, 2.0 & 2.1) and SuiteFlow.
  • Experience with NetSuite integrations (Web Services, RESTlets, third-party connectors).
  • Strong understanding of NetSuite modules (OTC, Inventory, RMA, Subscriptions and Advanced Revenue).
  • Ability to design and implement SuiteAnalytics saved searches and custom reports.
  • Hands-on experience in user management, role-based security, and data governance.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to train and support end-users effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.

Experience

  • NetSuite Administrator or Developer Certification.
  • Experience with SuiteBundler for deployment of customizations.
  • Familiarity with JIRA, GitHub and Dell Boomi.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
