Anduril's Maritime Division is responsible for planning and executing Anduril's product and revenue roadmap for maritime missions. Working across product, engineering, business development, logistics, and operations, the Maritime team develops, tests, deploys, and sustains the Anduril maritime capabilities in a challenging operational environment worldwide.
You will execute the technical development of a surface platform from concept to delivery. You will work closely with Anduril’s Strategy team and strategic opportunity customers to develop designs so that requirements are tied to customer inputs and there is traceability to program office technical decisions.
- Execute the initial design, prototyping, capability verification, and delivery of a maritime autonomous weapon platform
- Work on the initial design of the system and subsystems including system architecture development, requirements definition, system and sub-system trades and optimization, risk management etc. to ensure the appropriate consideration of design key performance parameters, schedule, costs, and risks to shape the product
- Perform systems engineering and trade analyses to enable the exploration and rapid iteration of early conceptual designs, while working closely with technical SME’s and strategic growth team to provide creative solutions to current and future gaps in the DOD capability. Ensure that the warfighter is provided with the best solution for current and future conflicts.
- Coordinate closely with manufacturing and supply chain teams to ensure design for manufacturing is embedded in early platform concepts and matured to support full rate production at scale. Drive product differentiation through manufacturing capability and novel manufacturing techniques
- Work with program leadership to ensure resource plans are adequate for work scope.
- Technical execution of the generation of a new surface platform for Anduril Maritime
- Oversee execution of platform design and development inputs from third party performers and partners. Work with other system leads to field a cohesive, integrated, and effective product
- Define key capabilities, milestones, and demonstrations to enable continuous development and maturation of autonomous systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Systems Engineering, Marine Engineering, or equivalent, or proven experience in a relevant field
- Minimum of 5 years experience with Naval Architecture, Ship Design, and systems engineering on defense systems or weapon programs
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance
- Travel 25% to Customer and Test Sites
- Demonstrated understanding of multi-domain unmanned and autonomous weapon system development and employment
- Experience with surface platform programs from initial concept design through transition to full development, testing and qualification, and rate manufacture
- Strong understanding of autonomous system architecture and overall design approach for unmanned weapons systems
- Experience working on mission critical DOD systems
- Experience working with cross-functional teams focused around a common vision
- Preferred candidate is based out of Washington, DC
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
