The National Sales Director – Immunohistochemistry (North America) is responsible for leading the commercial strategy, execution, and growth of Leica Biosystems’ Advanced Straining Immunohistochemistry (IHC) portfolio across the Americas. This highly visible role will drive revenue, market share, and customer engagement by leveraging deep technical expertise in IHC, strategic sales leadership, and a passion for developing high-performing teams. The Director will build and execute a national sales strategy, foster key relationships with major accounts and KOLs, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
This position reports to the Vice President, Commercial – North America and is part of the Americas Commercial Leadership Team. The role is remote, with travel across the Americas as required.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Relentlessly lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing field sales team of ~100 people with $200M in revenue responsibility, setting clear targets and implementing performance management systems.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with key accounts, hospital networks, reference labs, academic institutions, and KOLs in pathology and oncology.
Provide technical and scientific expertise in IHC, communicating complex concepts to customers, and internal teams.
Oversee sales forecasting, pipeline management, and the achievement of sales KPIs, utilizing data analytics to refine performance.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Multiple years of experience in commercial sales leadership within diagnostics, life sciences, or healthcare, with direct responsibility for IHC or related diagnostic portfolios.
Demonstrated expertise in immunohistochemistry, including technical knowledge of reagents, staining instruments techniques, and diagnostic applications.
Proven track record of building and executing impactful and results-focused national sales strategies, driving revenue growth, growing market share and managing key accounts.
Strong financial acumen, including experience with P&L, pricing strategy, forecasting, and contract negotiation.
Experience leading leaders and developing geographically dispersed sales teams.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including overnight travel within the Americas.
Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Deep understanding regional market dynamics in diagnostics or IVD.
Navigating regulatory and reimbursement environments for diagnostic products in the Americas.

The annual salary range for this role is $225,000 - $250,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
