Overview of the Role 

  • In this role, you'll oversee sales management within a designated territory or nationally, depending on client partnerships with C.A. Fortune. You'll cultivate strong relationships with key account personnel across various functions, provide strategic advice on marketing and retail execution, and attend major industry events to represent your accounts. 
  • Your focus will be on meeting or exceeding client KPIs, delivering budgeted revenue while managing expenses, and identifying growth opportunities. You'll also develop and present impactful sales presentations, secure client-approved schematics, and support the Client Service Specialist in managing claims and trade deals. 
  • Location: Fully remote; if local to Chicago, IL would observe a hybrid schedule (2-3 days in office)
  • Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 based on experience, qualifications and skills.
  • Travel Requirements: less than 10% - National trade shows, client sales meetings

What You’ll do at C.A. Fortune 

  • Sales management nationally dependent on assigned client partnership with C.A. Fortune. 
  • Builds relationships with account personnel including top management, merchandising, accounting, advertising, operations, logistics and finance. 
  • Advise clients on account-specific goals, marketing strategy and retail execution. 
  • Deliver budgeted revenue while maintaining expenses 
  • Identifying new growth opportunities such as expanded product distribution or increased promotional activity 
  • Meet or exceed client KPI’s. This includes but not exclusive to goals related to sales, distribution, pricing, shelving placement, promotional volume, and promotional spend management. Establish regular communication with the clients and customers that lead to strong working relationships. Takes a proactive approach to managing the client’s business that anticipates its needs and provides solutions. 
  • Coordinate efforts to develop and deliver sales presentations to clients and customers that highlight sales accomplishments and areas of opportunity. Incorporate the use the syndicated data to outline business building ideas. 
  • Secure client-approved schematics for all clients’ brands by providing communication to our schematic, reset, and retail departments. 
  • Support the Client Service Specialist assigned by client to ensure that all correspondence on claim and deductions are promptly handled and all trade deals are entered. 

What You Should Bring to the Table 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred 
  • 3+ years of CPG experience 
  • Strong communication and organization 
  • Aptitude to effectively interpret and use multiple information sources to develop customer-specific tactical plans and options. 
  • Ability to read and interpret data (SPINS, Nielsen, IRI) 
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong, effective relationships with customers and functional groups. 
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; problem solver; well-developed organizational, communication and time management skills.
