As a National Investment Manager, you will strategize and execute national TV/CTV campaigns, manage budgets, negotiate contracts, and analyze performance metrics to enhance return on ad spend (ROAS).
DealMaker is seeking a high-caliber National Investment Manager to fully own our most critical brand and performance channel: National TV/Connected TV (CTV). This is a solo, high-autonomy role that requires a blend of deep technical execution, strategic financial forecasting, and high-stakes negotiation. You will be accountable for optimizing seven-figure budgets to deliver measurable business margin and issuer ROAS (Return on Ad Spend).
Who you are
As a National Investment Manager, you will be a pivotal partner to our growth team, owning the strategy and execution of national TV/CTV campaigns end-to-end. You’ll craft audience-led media plans, stand up and optimize buys, forecast for ROAS, design incrementality testing, and translate results into clear business decisions. You’ll also develop and manage direct publisher relationships, negotiate favorable terms, and collaborate with Legal, Finance, and Analytics to ensure efficient, compliant, and scalable outcomes.
You are a highly motivated, strategic individual contributor with strong people skills and a natural ability to build rapport and trust. You pair analytical rigor with creative problem-solving, and you’re proactive and results-oriented—prioritizing speed over perfection, pushing your limits, and always finding a way to overcome challenges. Your dedication to obsessing over customers drives you to deliver measurable impact and exceptional partner experiences.
What You’ll Do
As the National Investment Manager, you are the single-threaded owner of our TV/CTV performance, responsible for driving the core KPIs of ROAS for issuers and Margin for the business. Your key responsibilities include:
- Build & own national TV/CTV media strategy across linear and streaming, covering audience definition, flighting, budget mix, test design, and creative briefs tied directly to performance and issuer KPIs.
- Form and manage direct network/platform relationships by evaluating packages, negotiating IOs and Ts&Cs (rates, data rights, makegoods, cancellations), and driving legal reviews to signature.
- Plan & activate performance CTV via DSPs and 3rd party vendors by owning pacing, optimization, pixeling, and budget reallocations against ROAS and Cost Per guardrails.
- Design geo, time and audience holdouts and lift tests, partnering with internal data constituents and third-party measurement providers to validate outcomes beyond last-click.
- Forecasting & finance: Build channel-level ROAS forecasts and scenario plans; manage delivery, invoices, and makegoods.
- Serve as a core partner, translating complex TV tactics and analytics into clear decisions for Strategy, Partnerships, Finance, and Legal, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
How We'll Measure Success (First 12 Months)
The successful candidate will achieve the following critical business outcomes within the first year:
- Launch a repeatable linear and CTV growth program with a quarterly testing roadmap and readouts.
- Secure 2–3 direct network/platform deals with favorable economics and measurement/data access.
- Prove statistically valid incremental lift on priority campaigns and hit Funded ROAS targets.
What You Need
The most critical part of this role is having direct network negotiation experience and a demonstrated ability to forecast Funded ROAS, manage 7-figure budgets, and scale winners while protecting efficiency.
Critical Job Requirements (Non-Negotiables):
- 5–8+ years in TV/CTV media (brand, agency, network, or platform) with direct network negotiation experience and hands-on execution in one or more CTV buying platforms (TVScientific, Tatari, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to forecast ROAS, manage 7-figure budgets, and scale winners while protecting efficiency.
- Depth in incrementality/lift methods (geo/time splits) and outcome measurement (site/app conversions, MMM triangulation) with providers like iSpot/VideoAmp.
- Comfort navigating legal & commercial terms (data rights, cancellation windows, viewability/brand safety standards, makegoods).
The ideal candidate must have (Core Competencies):
