What You Will Do

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven National Account Manager - Small Format to lead our sales efforts and manage relationships with Convenience, Travel, and Higher Education retailers. This individual will be responsible for total sales and P&L management of assigned accounts, collaborating cross-functionally with distributors, brokers, and internal teams to drive growth in these key retail sectors. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sales, a deep understanding of the consumer-packaged goods industry, and proven experience in managing complex retail accounts and trade.

Responsibilities

  • Sales & P&L Management: Own total sales and P&L accountability for assigned retailers, driving growth and profitability.
  • Trade Marketing Management: Manage, execute, track, and analyze trade marketing strategies within Chomps Trade Marketing platform.
  • Retailer & Account Management: Manage headquarter relationships for Convenience, Travel, and Higher Education retailers. Foster regular communication and collaboration to expand product distribution and increase sales.
  • Distributor & Broker Management: Drive growth by managing the performance of distributors and brokers. Implement Chomps Broker Scorecard and execute monthly meetings with brokers to ensure alignment and results.
  • Data Analysis & Strategy Implementation: Leverage consumption and distributor data to uncover challenges and opportunities. Drive initiatives that rapidly expand product and category distribution.
  • Retailer Promotions & Shopper Marketing: Partner with the marketing team to execute retailer promotional plans and shopper marketing strategies that align with broader sales goals. 
  • Distribution & Shelf Management: Ensure key accounts meet objectives for distribution, shelf placement, pricing, and promotions. 
  • Innovation & Business Opportunities: Champion innovation by identifying new business opportunities. Collaborate with internal teams—including innovation, operations, and leadership—to launch new products and pricing strategies. 
  • Travel & Market Coverage: Maintain a monthly calendar of retailer visits as well as broker and distributor meetings.  Conduct market tours to assess performance across major accounts. 
  • Collaboration & Ownership: Take ownership of organizational goals and contribute to cross-functional initiatives beyond your direct scope to support company-wide success. 

Who You Are

  • 5 - 8 years of experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) with a strong background in the small format class of trade.
  • Proficient in trade management and demand planning software; Proven ability to manage and execute trade marketing strategies within Chomps trade management system. 
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience working with Convenience/Travel retailers, distributors, and brokers. 
  • Skilled in forecasting and data interpretation using SPINS, Nielsen, and Numerator.
  • Comfortable with MS Office, Google Workspace, and other digital tools.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication abilities; capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels and representing the Chomps brand positively.
  • Dedicated team player with a track record of working effectively across departments.
  • Thrives in fast-paced environments; meticulous and solution-driven.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time for trade shows, sales calls, and sales meetings.
  • Experience in a start-up environment is a plus!
  • Bachelor's Degree or similar experience preferred.

Position: National Account Manager - Small Format

Reports to: General Manager - Small Format

Location: Remote

Type: Full-Time, exempt

Salary Range Opportunity:

  • The salary range for this role is $135,000 - $140,000 + 20% annual bonus

Compensation Philosophy & Total Comp:

  • Our salary ranges are based on verified market data and our philosophy of paying competitively for our size and industry
  • Individual pay rate decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company
  • In addition to base salary, full-time team members receive medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401K 6% match, and monthly reimbursements for wellness and home office.
