Alpha Financial Markets Consulting is a leading global consultancy to the financial services industry. Alpha combines highly specialist, sector-focused management consulting and technology expertise to support the client transformation lifecycle. We have over 1,050 consultants globally, operating from offices spanning the UK, North America, MENA, Europe and APAC. Following a hugely successful AIM listing where Alpha listed with a market cap of £160m in 2017, the company enjoyed further substantial growth before selling to one of the world's leading quoted private asset growth investors (Bridgepoint) for £626m in August 2024. Following the successful take-private transaction, Alpha continues to grow organically and inorganically, having completed the double acquisition of White Marble Consulting and Bankside Financial Solutions Consulting in September 2024 which followed previous acquisitions of Shoreline, Lionpoint and Axxsys. Our team is of a uniquely high caliber and by focusing on asset and wealth management, alternatives and insurance, we build deep knowledge and experience within our industries. We work with a blue-chip client base, including 100% of the world’s top 20 asset managers by AUM, and work with over 970 clients across the globe to-date. To clients, we’re a trusted partner for change programs that improve links between their people and processes. But to our employees, we’re so much more. Alpha is a rewarding place to work. A meritocratic environment perfect for building a career and an exciting place to meet some great people.

Alpha has offices in the US, Canada, Europe, and APAC. While our North America team can be based remotely (with occasional need to travel); our offices are located in New York, Toronto, Boston, Denver, Austin, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

Our business supports clients through 3 practice areas: Client and Digital, Investments, and Operations. These are supported by a number of specialisms including Data, ESG and Regulatory & Compliance. Successful career paths at Alpha mean you can be a generalist who supports clients across these practices; or specialize and support clients within specific practice areas.

At Alpha, diversity, equity and inclusion are critical to our success, and we are committed to employing individuals from all backgrounds to reflect the multi-faceted society we live in. We have worked hard to foster an environment that welcomes everyone and celebrates each other’s successes. We aspire for Alpha to not only feel like ‘a job’ – but a close-knit community and the place where you want to build a career.

What makes us different?

  • Established yet entrepreneurial – We believe that Alpha is the perfect combination of a successfully established firm (founded in 2003, quoted on the AIM of the London Stock Exchange) whilst being entrepreneurial, dynamic, and growing. This means, your contributions are not only impactful and valued, but you also have the support of a top-tier organization with rapid growth and progression opportunities
  • Work alongside the best in the industry – Working at Alpha gives you the opportunity to work alongside both the leading organizations in our industry, and also experts within the Alpha team. Learning directly from both will allow you to accelerate the development of your own expertise in the asset and wealth management space
  • We invest in developing your talent – We run tailored training for all levels and support our talent with industry-leading qualifications including CFA, PMP, CAIA, and more. To support ongoing learning and development, we also offer up to 5 days of paid training time per year
  • A true meritocracy – At Alpha, we don’t have any concept of ‘time at level’ or promotion quotas – which means that your potential is truly driven by your performance, and you are in charge of your own career trajectory
  • High responsibility and autonomy – Each member has a high level of responsibility and autonomy on every project, as well as exposure to senior team members (e.g. Directors) who continuously support, train and develop you

At Alpha, you will be pivotal in leading engagements to identify and implement solutions for a range of issues facing asset and wealth managers. • Supporting Alpha FMC’s business development by driving the creation of client proposals, authoring thought leadership, and maintaining strong relationships with past and prospective clients
  • Contributing to the wider Alpha community by making innovative and proactive contributions to one or more of Alpha’s business management or practice areas
  • Maintaining a broad understanding of the challenges facing the Asset & Wealth Management Industry and demonstrating subject matter expertise in a least one area in demand by clients

We want to hear from people with:

  • Operating model design and implementation experience impacting business processes and/or IT solutions in at least one business area such as Investments, Distribution, Middle & Back Office processes and outsourcing
  • Intellectual capacity and ability to think in new and innovative ways to understand complex issues and develop creative solutions
  • Ability to mentor and coach team members; focus on team achievement, not just individual goals
  • Flexibility to travel if required

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
