Who we are

Jellyvision ALEX®, is on a mission to improve lives by helping people choose and use their benefits. We are raising the bar—for benefits and the employee experience (for our employees and those of the customers we serve) – by scaling personalization, compassion and an earnest intent to be helpful in all that we do.

Jellyvision people are a group of creative problem solvers who use good judgment, give each other honest feedback, engage in real debate, and snack frequently. We are curious, hungry, and humble—because we know this is how we’ll continue to make an impact. We’re kind, biased towards action, and sweat the details to create great experiences for those we serve.

We are an inclusive, human-first workplace. Respect and trust for each other are foundational, and our equitable total rewards offerings support the lives and holistic well-being of our unique people. At Jellyvision, expect career experiences that challenge you, empower you to have a direct impact on our mission, and enable you to learn, try, and do while having fun along the way.

What’s the role

We’re looking for a hands-on Multimedia Designer to join our team and help us continue growing our content library of videos and interactive experiences that help millions of employees choose and use employer benefits.

This is a hybrid role for someone who’s comfortable wearing multiple hats: animation, sound design, file wrangling, accessibility prep – you name it. You’ll be supporting the production of our signature interactive conversations and educational videos, working alongside artists, writers, and product designers to bring concepts to life with clarity and charm.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in motion design and audio production who is eager to grow as a creative contributor and hungry to find tools and processes that can help us make even more, even better stuff. We’re a collaborative crew, so while you’ll have direct ownership of your production tasks, you’ll also have a voice in the creative direction of the product as a whole with opportunities to explore and learn other creative disciplines within our team.

What you’ll do to be successful

1) Elevate our storytelling via dynamic animation, text treatments, and motion design

  • Workshop boards and animatics to find interesting-but-affordable approaches to explaining difficult concepts
  • Collaborate closely with our artist and motion designer to develop clear, concise visuals
  • Apply timing, pacing, and transitions to enhance clarity and flow
  • Balance detail and efficiency to ensure projects ship on time

Success will be measured by animation quality, turnaround time, and feedback from peers and stakeholders.

2) Polish and implement content

  • Handle sound design, voiceover syncing, and light audio cleanup as necessary
  • Export final files in the formats needed for implementation
  • Prepare caption files, alt formats, and other accessibility assets
  • Maintain an organized library of project files and source materials
  • Assemble assets and build interaction logic in our content management system

Success will be measured by minimal rework, smooth handoffs, and overall quality of creative work.

3) Help optimize our production pipeline

  • Identify bottlenecks and propose improvements to our media production process
  • Help maintain documentation for animation and audio standards
  • Learn new tools (like Lottie, Rive, or our content management system Kentico) that could speed up or improve delivery
  • Bonus: be comfortable building or vibe coding your own tools when one doesn’t already exist
  • Pitch in wherever you’re needed most to keep projects unblocked

Success will be measured by efficiency improvements, peer feedback, and ability to flex across needs.

Experience & skills you’ll need

  • 3+ years of experience in motion design, animation, or media production
  • A portfolio showing solid animation fundamentals and a strong sense of timing, personality, and clarity
  • Working knowledge of sound design workflows and audio production tools
  • Proficiency with Adobe After Effects and Premiere, with bonus points for Audition, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Comfort working in a cross-functional, collaborative environment
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail (you’ll often be the last stop before files go live)
  • Bonus: experience with Lottie, Rive, Figma, or CMS content implementation and familiarity with accessibility best practices and captioning workflows

The Details

  • Location: Remote
  • Starting Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
